It appears to be contradictory but it actually isn't. One can be very public and manifest in a very public way, The Sun, without revealing who or what one truly is, the 12th House. The concept of "the ego" is misleading and I would say does more harm than good. It creates another series of superficial, theoretical, false antitheses, like "Mind vs Body". There in fact is no such thing as "the ego". There is Consciousness and Depths and layers of Consciousness. In practical terms there is Awareness, and layers and levels of Awareness. There is no "Mind-Body-Soul". There is Being which necessarily has Layers and Levels. It is entirely the decision and capability of the Individual how Deep, Broad or High one Experiences and Manifests. The "ego" is merely Superficial Consciousness. The bulk of our words comes from a superficial, divided, polarized Consciousness. This is why this type of consciousness replicates itself across fields and subjects. And yes, I have 12th Sun but I also have Mercury Trine Pluto. ;-)

This is one of the rarest of the rare instance where the positive side of 12H has been brought to light

I can really relate to this analogy of the sun in the 12th house and I have been studying astrology since I was 15 I would go as far as saying this is totally accurate for me . I have the sun venus mercury and mars in taurus in the 12th house and I'm 36 and it's only very recently that I have become unafraid and I'm ready to start the journey to success

never really understood myself.. Thank you. I was on a website for Esoteric astrology. My Cancer sun is in the 12th house. When the narrator came to the 12th house, he spit the information about my Cancer sun being in the 12th house with absolute disgust. Then he said people with that placement don't know how to love. Then he said ro learn to love myself, "if that's possible." Then he followed up with the hope that I would treat people nicer." It was brutal. That's not how anyone should speak to another human being. It isn't the first time, until now that I sort of get it. It was tough growing up. People always assume the worst.

I have sun in the 12th house ... I liked this video very much, 100% accurate. I always live with a fear that nobody cares about you unless you do something for them :/ But because of my Aries moon- I am able to always stay independently afloat without many issues as to how many fucks are given about the way I am perceived :)

Now I’m 42, calm down. I started reading about astrology, Feng Shui, diff religions kinda interest me. So many questions about universe and souls. I started collecting crystals and plants at home. I’m focusing more on my teen ager kids now.

It is the sun rising after the long dark of night, there is far too much misunderstanding about this placement. We see it very materialistically, it is the most gentle, pure and welcoming position of the Sun in our experience in nature.

My moon is also in scorpio .. that adds another big challenge for the soul . Honestly I always felt so so different and till this day I found only one person in real life who has moon in scorpio . Sometimes I feel it’s truly too much to have these extreme placements in your chart but at the same time you are never bored of yourself because every day you wake up feeling in a certain way to feed your souls desires . I have this placement and I hate it. I spend a lot of time alone which I hate since I’m a Gemini sun. I lost all my friends (grew apart, moved away, became distant) now I’m spend time alone by myself at home. I have Mercury and Venus in the 12th house..and I am fascinated by the Sun in the 12th .....There are "shades" of this...and all placements... like a 12th House planet having a close aspect with the sun..even if it is somewhere else in the chart. I would love to see an analysis of the differences between...say having the 12H sun vs...a Piscian sun. I notice that comedians and other people who have the ability to "see around corners" in the hidden human experience have some variation of the Sun in the 12th house. Also...Varun...in the 12th house, The asc in Pisces, ...so many variations that show the native being able to channel or see the human condition..combined with breaking through in their self acceptance so they can share their vulnerabilities (which is why we love comedians usually). I am not an expert..but I have a feeling that the cloistered atmosphere of the 12th house...the isolation, or prison or hospital energy...that it can be BETTER understood by seeing the 12th house is the key...to profound INFLUENCE. l Love my 12th House Sun ..it expresses itself as my dedicated lifelong quest on my spiritual journey. lt is and always has been the driving force in my life. It is my greatest desire. Now, l consider my greatest achievement is working with Higher Spirit Technicians on my own ascension path and also directly assisting the collective with my shared connection to facilitate everyone's progress, process. Of course, this is all done on the down low, l keep it very private, hidden and personal. l feel l am living my life's work. Although to look at me in the 3D it doesn't show ... unless you know me, and very few do.

Since my Sun sign is in Leo, apart of me is somewhat grateful for it also being in the 12th house. As it helps ground my Leo in a way and keeps it from growing too cocky or complacent.

I have Sun at 29 degrees in the 12th house in Virgo with Mars there as well at 20 degrees. It's been difficult for me. As a child too. I always felt like where am I, who am I and what is this place ? A few years ago I started delving into Astrology, I know there is still so muuch for me to learn about it.

Thanks for this video. I have my sun in Virgo in the 12th house only 2 degrees from my ascendant. I heard that some astrologers (or many?) consider this as if it were in the first. But as far as my childhood (and my current sense of self) is concerned, most of the 12th house descriptions fit me. I'm always trying to discover who I am, just to find out that who I am is kind of changeable. Also feel like whatever I say to people they cannot see the real me. Sometimes it feels like there is this glass wall between me and others...metaphorically speaking... Even though I feel that I am far from that scared and shy kid I was when growing up, I still feel this energy inside me. For a long time it felt like there was this "invisible force" inside/outside me which didn't let me manifest who I really am. Like it was allowed for many others, but not for me. I'm curious what is your take on this - would the sun be considered in the first house when it's on the ascendant? Thanks.

Hi :) I have my sun in the 12th house 4°09' Libra/Virgo too. I think I understand what you mean when you talk about that seeming invisible wall about people not understanding or seeing the real you. I feel it as though misunderstanding takes place within the distance of what is spoken and what is heard. Something lost in translation. As though, trying so hard to convey the raw feeling, idea or thought, as felt from inside, only when it is spoken, it is not easily understood. Like a voice screaming from within when misunderstood, an underlying inner yearning to be understood as you feel inside. I've seen the expression, feeling and vibe from other people as well. that moment they didn't feel like they were understood. But then again, because I know how it feels to feel that way, I make an effort to reach out and understand when I see it happening to others, or because I intuitively understand what the person is trying to convey, I help them by explaining it in a different way. Sometimes, just validating that person with what their trying to convey, and paraphraising back to them that I understand what they mean seems to make them feel a great deal better. I think thats one of the plus sides of this. Hope that makes sense lol xD

Ye interesting … I always felt that I. Oulu do with some more ego …. Or personality and now I am discovering that I’ve got lots of them, or at least vey complex . The opposites in me…. And befor I listened to this today I Was thinking just that as to how to have a coherent self with all these opposing forces that run my ship . I can also resonate with not having connection with myself and needing people , others impeded to bring that me out … just like you say of hiding. And yes I am much happier when I am vibrant and responding to the world around me , but yes the gripping desire for success that was hidden and now came to light Dow take first seat in the ride , even when I crash it rises again with new ideas and new and fresh as if nothing happened and the ship haven’t sunk a few days back .

I was always afraid of the dark as a kid, petrified is more like it. Even as an adult now I still don't like to be in complete darkness but I have grown to like my alone time.

I never put much thought in this house, my sun would be on my ascendant if it had traveled one degree more ahead. So I considered it to be more in the first. Until recently I was told it was more in the twelve. I hadn't notice how difficult it is in the twelve . :( How would you say I can release myself from this karma? I also have it squaring my Neptune. I’ve uncovered my Capricorn Midheaven Qualities. I have a ton of fire in my personal planets so I can be very popular but introverted at the same time my dominant planet Jupiter also helps my energy. I can say that fear has been a nag, but yes when I was younger before i started had sex (22) my fantasy were wild!

I dont know why the 12th house is associated with darkness. Ironically the sun first rises in the 12th house. And if it truely is the house of God and spirituality it should be filled with light

Its more like the birth place of the spiritual, as even in space, stars are born from black 'holes'.

Would a 12th house native pair well with an 8th house native in theory (if the rest of the chart's aspects are relatively compatible)?

+Maja .Vrhovac I prefer equal house. The other systems have their reasons for being but I don't find them nearly as accurate or universally fair as equal house.

I have Venus, Mars and Mercury in 12th house but Sun in 1st house but recently I dated someone who has Sun in 12th house conjunct Uranus. She is acting like a split personality/ bit chameleon because her North Node is also in 1st house.
