Join me on an avian adventure at RSPB Old Moor Nature Reserve! Armed with my trusty Nikon Z8 and the latest Firmware Version 2.0, I embarked on a quest to capture feathered wonders in flight.
🦜 Bird Detection Unleashed: The Z8’s new Bird AF mode is a game-changer. It locks onto our feathered friends with precision, whether they’re darting across the reedbeds or perched on a swaying branch. Say hello to sharp, in-focus bird portraits!
🌿 Wetlands and Wildlife: Old Moor is a haven for nature enthusiasts. Wander the trails, peek into hides, and soak in the serene views. Kingfishers dart by, Bitterns boom mysteriously, and Great-crested Grebes put on their springtime dance.
🔭 Hides and Pond-Dipping Kits: Little ones will love the adventure playground, and families can explore the dedicated family hide. Plus, from April to October, grab a pond-dipping kit and discover the underwater world.

For me the first bullfinch photo makes it all worthwhile! Great.
WOW! the update was awesome for the Z8 loving it as I learn the camera! GOD Bless
The update has really made the z8 great for birds. It's a lot better than the animal detect mode. It's like getting a version 2 z8 without having to buy one. It makes me wonder what else we might get in the future with this camera. I thought we were supposed to get 30 fps with raw. Not that I need that.
Looking forward to trying out the Firmware 2.0 on Birds in Flight with my Z8 and 190-600. They worked a dream prior to the Firmware on Animal Detect >> I will be interested with this Video frm S Africa

Nice video Darrell. Have got my eye on that camera. Those conditions didn't look great. If you want to see a bird photography channel with slightly better weather give mine a gander😃🙏 Take care..
I've never seen a redpoll - will keep looking!! Another great video to watch and enjoy. Hopefully we shall all get some nice weather soon and better light for our photography!
