Birdie our rescue deer

This story is a video journey showing some of the process of raising a fawn. The nanny (mama deer) was killed by a car about a day before the fawn showed up at our house. I was doing yard work, when the fawn ran up to me. I was told it's highly unusual for a fawn only a day or two old to leave their spot in the woods. Typically a fawn doesn't venture out until atleast 2 to 3 weeks old. This fawn however was very hungry and would have died within a few days. After the first part of the video where she showed up at our house, she wouldn't leave and got really weak and lethargic. She started to get ear curl, so we had to do something. I couldn't let her die, so we adopted her and raised Birdie back to health.
She is now back in the wild with the other deer, so it's sad that she has become wild, but it also makes me happy that she has gone back to what nature intended.

That was really nice. I'm glad you found her & took care of her. And very happy to know she's living with other deer again! Has she ever come back to see you again? Hope she's doing well since she doesn't have anyone to keep predators away from her...

A really lovely deer story. I am puzzled as to why this video does not have thousands more viewers. Maybe you should come to an arrangement with one of those commercial outfits that promotes this type of video. Although they usually have fairly brief videos, plus I don't know what their business ethics are like.
