Hi English brummie in Malta, my wife came from Smethwick (very broad accent) i just wanted to say i enjoy these videos because i spent my 9 years of my childhood in Malta mainly around the Sliems St Julians Balluta area. also my mother is part Maltese and her mum lived in Paola in government flats. as kids we spent a lot of time playing on Manoel Island, that's changed a lot, we played in the barracks there and there are a lot of caves under the marching parade, we found a blocked up door in the the wall and knocked through, that was our little secret don't tell anyone will you. Our fav beaches were Golden bay Paradise bay and Mellieha. but in the end when we got fed up with sand sandwiches and and sand in just about everywhere else we resorted to swimming in St Julians bay a nice rocky beach . Have you seen the bastions and what was the military bases, now schools called Verdala. they are over near the 3 cities. the reason we were there 3 times for about 3 years every time was because my dad was a deep sea diver and they worked from a salvage boat in the middle of the Grand Harbour diving down and cutting up all the old shipwrecks from the second world war. We have many Maltese relatives in Malta because of my mother's side of the family. too many to count now, cousins, second cousins, aunts uncles etc. our favourite food was spaghetti and rabbit and the timpana and cheese cakes. but best of all was the real Maltese bread straight from the oven, i enjoyed your video about when you went to where they made some 'hops' have you done a video on Lija yet? its an amazing place, my uncle lived there and we used to have to dive into a doorway every time a bus was coming, because the streets were so narrow and there were no pavements. anway i could go on forever, so all the best to you. keep filming

Lovely walk on the coast, I don't think we've ever really walked from St Gearges Bay on to the monument. Loved the opening with the water lapping on the shoreline... so quiet, hardly a soul about. We watched your fish and chip video with Rose last Sunday, and realised that the last time we were in Pretty Bay we sat at the next restaurant on from Boras. Didn't realise there was a F&C restaurant right next door! (Doh!) 😂 Take it easy... don't be overdoing it, if you're feeling tired have a rest. You know it makes sense 😃 👍❤ 🇲🇹

Thanks a lot Steve, nice long walk, I'm walking with you every time, but only on my laptop which it's not helping me getting fit and ready to start gardening and digging at my allotment, that monument, ye you right, it is ugly, that sandy bit is where my mother use to take me to swim as it was a lot closer from Hamrun than the other sandy beaches up north of the island, oh and by the way i'm a bit of a "gremxula" too, so you can imagine how I feel every ****ing winter, but never mind that now because soon will be SPRING my favourite time of year, bye 4 now till the next video, I hope you'll have enough time to read all this............

How lovely it is to see all these places without loads of people in the way. That is selfish of me to say as there are many waiting for the chance to get to Malta again but these walks of yours in the built up areas, since the covid problem have been spectacular. Hi Steve Really enjoyed your walk along the seafront. I think that there is another memorial stone to the Gorbachev Bush summit from 1989 on the beach side at Pretty Bay. We are closed here in Australia and atm zero cases with everything open; but the country is closed to international travellers and we are not allowed to leave without an approved exemption, and we might not be able to get back in and if we are lucky enough to find a flight then we have to quarantine and a hotel at our own expense of over 4000 Australian dollars, which is about 2500 thousand euros....
