Theres a switch on the desk when you move your cursor over it, it should say, 'intriguing swtich', once you press it the glass casing in front of the nitro will be gone and you can take it.

Did you press the button on the side of the desk labeled "intriguing switch"? If you did, then it could be a glitch. Try resetting the console and attempting once more.

the code is 0512 ! the code is taped on a record tape and is under the stairs in the same room
