Yes, most Universities conduct their own entrance exams, so you will have to clear them specially in government colleges.

Yes, you can, as you had micro, bot, sp ur basics about bio r clear. Regarding programming, I didnt know programming either, they will teach it to you, dont worry.

What intrigued my interest in bioinformatics was that i had done a research paper as a project on coronavirus using in-silico tools and I studied computational biology in my 5th semester & along with that i had done a short term course with TERI on bioinformatics tools. Right now, i have started learning programming languages starting with python and then i have decided to do an online coursera course on Bioinformatics specialisation. I am not sure whether i should go for degree as well. What are the skills that i need to master in order to get a job as a bioinformatician?

Not gonna lie, I feel bioinformatics field will grow in near future but in india it still has a lot less jobs, finding a job in this field in our country is not that easy. It is an interesting field though if you have good problem solving skills, like coding and stuff then you can go for it, otherwise biotechnology is also fine.

Hey, sure. In my entrance exam most of the questions were from like from 11th and 12th class bio, also read little but about computer as well, like basic knowledge about RAM, ROM, computer hardware and software, like uptil class 5th computer knowledge.

It all depends on ur interest, I wont compare, if u r good with computers, programming, statistics then u can go for bioinformatics otherwise u can choose biotechnology.

Look in gov it starts from 30k after msc in bioinfo and in private it varies on your skills but mostly around 20k.

Bsc biotechnology for sure and I think u will have one subject of bioinformatics as well in it in one of the semesters. Bioinformatics is the application of biotechnology only.

Sure, bio mostly 11th and 12th class tk ki padni h, also little computer knowledge is asked, mostly about hardwares and softwares, RAM, ROM n stuff like that so whatever you have studied in Computer science till class 5th, again chemistry till class 12th, little bit of physics as well.

Yes they can, its gonna be hard in starting but then once you learn basics of bioinformatics then it will be easy. Basics will be taught in 1st semester, so dont worry about that.

Look there is still a scarcity in India in this field, also just doing bioinformatics may or may not provide you job, sometimes u need extra skills, u can get jobs in pharma companies after the course but for core jobs u need time, so if u r okay with that then go for it otherwise not. @@krishnendu182 yes, it is a good college just checked the reviews on google. Chances of jobs are more in south side than north because south is already doing a lot better in this field as compared to north side of India.
