Bioactive Desert Vivarium -75 gallon aquarium conversion
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
This is a fast-paced build montage of my arid vivarium build. Let me know if you want a tutorial for how to build your own. There are a lot of aspects not covered in this video that are critical to an arid habitat.

Bro makes us watch him vacuum his entire garage. Just playing. Amazing build! Gonna do something similar for my leopard gecko.
That’s awesome. Thanks so much for sharing that. I like the idea of starting with foam instead of building with spray foam.
I was not expecting the heat gun, but wow that worked out well! I can't wait to do a similar build for my bearded dragon. I really want it to be bioactive.
Great job! What a work of art!
Looks fantastic mate, hope to see more soon.
Wow! It looks like real stone. Nice job. I love your artwork video. Thanks!

Really cool. Would love to hear about the critical aspects that you did not cover!
nice project
Amazing👍👍💪💪music too.
Looks great, I would up the lighting a bit just to stop the plants etiolating as much
Awesome 😎
I've never seen anyone use a heat gun on those boards. The result is really striking! Were there noticable fumes when you were doing it?
Amazing
Love this setup. Could you explain your substrate and watering process?

I poor RO water into a reservoir on top of the tank that drains into the drainage layer of LECA. This wicks up into the sandy substrate and waters the plants. I do this about once per week as the Fan on top of the cage dries out the substrate quickly.
What plants did you use, and where did you get them and the botanicals? This build looks amazing by the way!
Was in the process of buying everything for a project like this. Anyone know if a western banded gecko and a desert horned lizard could live in the same tank? Or perhaps the Australian helmeted gecko Edit. Nevermind. Great thank build man. This was beyond than what I'm doing. I just wanted a semblance of a natural desert ecosystem in a large tank. Love the backboard though.
Seems more intuitive than the spray foam methods
Gorgeous…I’m planning a Sonoran Desert river/stream ecosystem for the Spring…

awesome, however, we should dialog before you start as I learned a lot from this project.
What are the 2 colors besides Gray that you used for dry brush technique?
What are you using for substrate. ??
What did you use for substrate?
Is that grilling charcoal you used?
Look, I like it I don’t just put more sand that because a cactus would just start to Diamme a few weeks or something like probably probably isn’t already dead cause you probably made it at a long time ago. Can you put soil then the sand for the cactus to actually get original nutrients, well I think that charcoal would be good. I don’t know.
What was the chicken scratch for? Nice job very entertaining.

I was using the old bag to store sand that I used for substrate
Can you list the supplies used in your video to make the background? I see dry lock and the anti skid? I'm wanting to make my own background using your video. Thanks so much!

Also, how long after you set it up do you need to wait before adding a gecko?

I used concrete pigments to tint the dry-lock. I would suggest getting a black or grey Dry lock to start instead of white, but the only color available to me was white and it still turned out well. Also, use the liquid pigments for the darkest first coat(which takes the longest-hours) and then use the powdered pigments for a thicker consistency on the later dry brush coats. Finish with the anti skid coat. Reference Serpa Design's bearded dragon habitat build as I took min inspiration from him

LED grow light and fluorescent tubes with a heat light on the right
Really well done up until you started planting. Then you began to show your inexperience with plants and how they naturally grow.
Question. Do you watch surpa design?

How did you know? LOL, yes, I take significant inspiration from him, but there are some glaring problems with many of his builds that I do differently.

@@Inverts4Introverts I'd be happy to help you through the design process. I've spent hundreds of hours and dollars researching what does and doesn't work. Reach out to me on Instagram (naturenate19) and I'd be happy to help you get on the right track.
