Finally!! someone who is not from any tech related background and makes transition in data analytics. I am very much inspired by her success. I am also from Bio background as a graduate in microbiology and have been working in BPO sector since last 3.5 yrs. I am trying to make a transition in data analytics and sometimes find it very overwhelming because of the doubts whenever I get stuck at an issue. Currently working on my first data analyst project and finding it difficult but will definitely complete it and many more in personal as well as official space.

After completing the certification which is like a introduction to everything related to data analytics, I am doing some portfolio projects to include in my resume. I am hoping this can help me land my first job. I might enter a bootcamp or do a diploma if none of this helps.

So happy to have found this podcast as even I made a switch from being a dietitian into IT as a business analyst, looking upto my sister, coz she's been into IT since past 4 years and I've always loved her work and the growth her profile brought to her life, which is why she suggested me to switch and I did a couple of online courses and then started working in a startup but till this date I kept asking myself, if this was a right choice or not. But when I saw someone with same background I too did MSC in clinical nutrition and dietetics and then I moved to IT. Hopefully this is a sign for me, that I've not made a wrong move 🙌🙌 thanks to channels like you, who capture ordinary people who are doing something inspiring, with whom we can relate to, unlike big business man's life story that almost seems like a fairy tale.

This transition is real where she totally changed career from and to a different domain. While, Transition from Computer/IT/Electrical engineering to Data Analytics doesn't give these much insights to get into this field. As she said she got rejected due to having not a degree Or prior experience in IT field and coming from tier 3 college, as a non tech fresher even I m facing many troubles for even get shortlisted for the roles because they already get application from within field people so they don't give you a try for an interview.

They only want storyteller from analytics to which sales person were best at . and techies somewhat were bad at storytelling.. compared to salesperson..🤘🤘 .. nutrition is goings to future in tech world too.. like wrist band tech are going to big in future though..

Bro, same. I am chemistry background and teaching in a private school. I am thinking of learning DSA. But again I have doubts as to whether I should go for KVS exam or not ? But my mind wants this tech job where there is good money plus doing something meaningful. In teaching most students who comes are garbage in my school and my job is just to make them pass. Sucks.

I'm a dentist, graduated last year, but I always wanted to work in IT sector, I was forced by my family to take dentistry... But now I have finally decided to change my career and I have started learning sql and excel, I will start python in like few days..I have been studying sql for like 18 days now... I'll start looking for data engineer or analytics job from 2nd week of jan....I'm gonna concentrate more on sql and excel for now and try to know the basics of python and libraries like numpy and panda... I'm not gonna lie, it's a very scary transition because personally i don't know anyone who's changed from a medical field to IT and I feel like I'm all alone, even my friends and family are all not supporting me as they feel like dentistry is a very "noble" profession, but this is what I want to do... I don't want to waste the next 30 years of my life just because I invested 6 years of my life in dental school...This is a very tough time for me ...Hope I will land a job...

Kind of in the same situation. I am right now into SEO and I handle a lot of data just on spreadsheets.....which got me interested in data science. Still wondering if this switch will be worth it or not. I mean if I do the switch, the pay is definitely going to get a boost. Started with codebasics roadmap to data science and learning statistics through Khan academy. Good luck for your journey, hope you achieve what you're aiming for!!
