Binondo Food Tour (2024)

We did what every youTuber does in Manila - go on a Food tour. This place really is full of good eats. You just have to pace yourself and be patient. Unfortunately, we went during a very busy time where tourists both local and international were everywhere and so we had to contend with large crowds (more than usual) and long lines. It was really hot so we couldn't stand in the long lines but at least we were able to sample some goods in a few of our target spots. To me just the experience of walking around the city was enough and learning about the history of the Chinese-Filipino community was eye opening.
We didn't go hungry and still had our fill of good eats and history lessons. I hope it gives people ideas when they come here but this city is a must-see food stop if you're in Manila. It's a walking tour as the city is small and walkable...the streets are wide enough to handle both pedestrian and cars at the same time (lol!).

Init…🥵 Kaya we couldn’t stand in the lines. Maybe when the weather is cooler and less people. But is there ever a time of the year when it’s not this crowded?

The crowd is almost always like that, sometimes worse especially during Tsinoy holidays. If I remember correctly, you even went on a weekday, so that's even less crowded at that. When I used to go to Binondo for work, during lunch I would explore and find "unknown" restaurants like a hole-in-the-wall type or one that is not crowded BUT where a lot of residents go to for take-out/to go/delivery and usually they would have the cheapest and yummiest food (but don't go looking for clean rest rooms there or super polite staff, just regular turo-turo service).
