I made a video on it about 5 or 6 years ago. Spend hours making the video and in the first week only 100 people watched it. I got so pissed I worked that hard to make it and nobody wanted to watch it I deleted it. Said I'd never do another one.

My dad has the same style of neoprene strap though an older one to the one for your 7 on his classic 8X32 Bushnell model with the grip texture from 1980 he got in 1991 from University of Wisconsin Madison in Grad school cheap due to the school upgrading to more durable models of binoculars that could handle the weather better. My dad also has some odd skinny 12 X 20 Leupold he got in 2000's when he worked for South Dakota Game Fish & Parks before personal changes caused him to quit that he took with all of his stuff becuse they really needed to have 12 X 25 or 12X 30 for the job. I have some that are Nikola are an 8x25x25 not sure what that means, but are a Nikon knockoff my grandpa got in 1990's from one of the cheap clone magazines/ads my Grandmother ordered for my Grandpa, the model from China has not been made since mid 2010's but they have a good original strap that to how light the binoculars are fine and how soft the nylon strap is almost like the paracord or flat shoelace I have seen people use. I also have some cheaper Tasco that worked okay in the past, too thin strap for hunting so the case was on my hunting waist pack. I got the Nikola pair after grandpa he passed, they were not his favorite for later in life in about 1999 needing some binoculars to read boards of restaurant places having specific models for that or for general use bird watching as those were the exact same model my dad of the Bushnell 8x32 classic my grandpa had, only model was 10 years older from 1969/1970 that my Grandpa got for bird watching one of his bigger hobbies (besides Running from 1970 to 1984 before his eyes got too bad to see and a back operation at the time that kept him from running) , that my dad now has the pair for my mom with original strap as it is better then the ones my dad had and also kept as a spare for main pair he uses quite a bit now as his others he stole from former place of work are too narrow for scanning but need to basically be locating the object before looking through the binoculars.

I have the updated Kiui bino harness and love it. I have my range finder attached on the side as well. It’s important to practice with the bino harness. I shoot with a compound bow and it took me a minute to get used to the harness. As you mentioned they do add some bulk. Thanks for the video.

Great video! A taut line hitch knot could also be used to make the paracord sling adjustable and eliminate the need for the hardware.

Very true. But the taurine can loose up while in the pack and not having tension on it. That's the only worry I had and why I went with the spring button

I bought Redfield Rebel bino's about 5 years ago. They were normally about $160 but got them on sale at Academy for $89. For the price, their optics are above average with crisp, clear, viewing even in low light. I was at Bass Pro years ago and remember seeing a display with Fred Bear's hunting accessories he carried. One of the items was an archaic set of bino's that were 7x power I believe. I don't think there was a brand marked on them. I think there was a knife and sheath, and a pair of his lace up knee high boots as well. Another thing I like about carrying bino's is that they help pass the time looking at birds, and other wildlife.

Yep doesn't matter what brand, prices, size etc. Most binos today are excellent. Couldn't say that 10 or 15 years ago. But today lots of great options and never leave the truck without them on me.

I have the Maven B3 6x30 and LOVE them for the woods (deer, pigs, turkey) and you may like them if your 7x30's ever die. I've also used the rick young 'bino harness' which is basically shock cord with a bungee synch like your paracord system but it allows you to wear it like those harnesses you used to like that wore out, or wear they around your neck/slung under your arm. You may like that too.

The vortex diamondback 8x32’s are by far my favorite binos for deer hunting from both the tree stand and ground in the northeast. Between the clarity, size of them and price they are hard to beat!

My dad for his Leupold pair12x20 he keeps them on his belt or large waist style hunting pack in the soft case they came in as is has a small strap but just un-Velcroed due to noise, they are weatherproof so he can have the top tucked in no problem. I will use the strap the Nikola model came on since it is so soft and comfortable. My dad made his for the Bushnell 8X32 Classics the neoprene to a strap had to modify a set so it had the neoprene on the neck part of a new strap he needed at the time, the old one wore out. My Tasco crappy 7 power no specification for width has the thin strap I hate but I will use them on my small waist hunting pack as the soft case has a loop for a belt when I did use that pair just to have less irritation for hiking movement then quick loop over my head when needed as the thin strap was worse then the black model you use for pig stuff. Now I have the Nikola model and with that I will use them with the strap in a way that works for me or at most make a removable harness set up work for the soft case as it has a spot to work on a belt loop. I will use it quite a bit the Nikola 8X25X25 model as I plan to hunt sans sight for gun season this year using slugs if I get a tag as they come in that close to where I hunt.

LWCG .75/1.0 is 27 inches but from the post it's 21.5. huge difference. I had emailed beast gear and they gave a sketch claiming ita 25inches from the post. I'll rewatch your video to confirm.
