I actually love these puppets- I mean the dog and the two aliens

God i remember binkly and doinkle they started out as a comic book in Canada i was a kid then

"He's turned green just like us!" That punch line didn't make sense to me when this was airing because I had only black and white TV. Now after 40 years I can see he did indeed turn green.

Pugsley turning green is freaky, but what's truly disturbing is that he passes out at an angle that gives his eyes the glassy stare of death. Then we get a close-up of the "Poison" death's-head symbol, with that creepy synthesizer track. No wonder these PSAs are the stuff of childhood nightmares.

I've just discovered who voiced Sniffer: Nick Nichols. He voiced Leroy the Donkey, in "The Muppet Musicians of Bremen", which was shot in Toronto, in 1972. Leroy and Sniffer have the same voice, but with a few different nuances.

The Hazardous Product Symbols were created by the Vickers and Benson ad agency, for the Hazardous Products Act (October, 1971). You'd think there would have been some sort of commemmoration of the 40th or 45th anniversary of these iconic graphic designs, but no-o-o-o-o. I couldn't even find out which artist created them. Vickers and Benson is long-gone, and so is Consumer & Corporate Affairs Canada.

@@gothtarrareprobably had its roles transferred to a different department, or completed its objectives and it no longer needed to be an entity

My first summer job in 1980 was touring with the "Binkley and Doinkle" road show - I was Doinkle, as well as being Pockets the Clown as a warm-up act.

Pugsley looks like Snidely Whiplash from Dudley Do Right, Well played Canada 🤣🤣
