I’m lovin’ these videos man! You’ve got me wanting to get out of bed, hop in the SidexSide 4x4 & drive down to the creek & get lookin’ for Ponkeshaw Arrowheads, various kinds, as I’ll take anything I find! Love the history! You are getting me up out of bed defying my “Degenerative Disk Disease”, and my 5 surgeries along with the rods & bolts, wires, batteries & say “to heck whit it”! Thanks man!

There was a farmer had a dog, And Bingo was his name-o. B-I-N-G-O B-I-N-G-O B-I-N-G-O And Bingo was his name-o. 🐾🐾🎼😉☺️ Oh and by the way, in the “ crude blade “ sifter, I thought I saw a fairly medium-large shark’s tooth. My eyes could be fooling’ me but it was in the upper right side ( but NOT exactly in of the corner of sifter ) which is facing the bank. You already have trained your eyes to find many different types of relics. I know you must have a nice collection of finds and I’m sure a shark’s tooth has already found in its place within a display cabinet. 🦈😊

15:43 that's a fresh water mussel we have plenty of them in Eastern North Carolina. As the otter are making a come back many of their shells are found on the shore's of creeks, the otters love them. You can fix'em up like a clam chowder, throw them on a grill for a few minutes or if the creek isn't polluted just eat them on the half-shell.

  • @cleggsadventures

I find the shells a the time, but I hardly ever see a live one. That river is pretty polluted from all the chemical plants. But there’s a creek where I find most. I’ve never eaten one before.

@@cleggsadventures By themselves their bland but of course that depends on how hungry one is. In the shallow stony parts of the creeks me and my cousin would get a bucket full at the time. That was in the 70's though. As far as the little one's the otter's and Racoons are the masters at getting them. I found a pile of the small one's on a large stump where an otter feasted on them, thirty or forty beautiful shells the size of the tip of my thumb, kept those suckers for making a neckless................ P.S. I'm so glad to see the Otter make a come-back after being trapped to near extinction and hope to God that the mussels or fresh water clams are still thriving.

I'm not really familiar with the theorized use of a "nutting stone" but I'm assuming it's for cracking open nuts. To be completely honest I wouldn't have even noticed it as being man-made until it was pointed out. That said, I work with a lot of stone tools and If i look at something for more than 10 seconds I can usually figure out something to do with it. I literally thought you said "nothing stone" until you showed it and I was like "OH, A NUTTING STONE". I can't tell you what THEY used it for but I can certainly tell you what my brain told me I could do with it lol. And I'm assuming whoever coined that term had the same idea.

At 44:50 in this video you’re holding a round chalky looking ball. I’ve been finding these on my farm. What are they?

Donald Ross Id love to try it, I’m always thinking of ways to get to the stuff easier. Only problem is, carrying heavy stuff down in there. It’s no easier accessible. Thanks for watching, much appreciated 👍
