Bing Crosby and Mary Martin perform a very bouncy "Wait Till the Sun Shines Nellie" in Birth of the Blues (1941).
Жүктеу.....

I watch CNBC, and every so often they have Art Kashin on the phone, (a gentleman in his upper years, who used to be on their show). In March of 2009, when the S & P was in the 600m hundreds, he said that's the bottom, buy" which turned out to be amazing. All that said, each year, near the end of the year, the old floor guys at the NYSE trading floor get together and sing this song. If you have followed them for years, it is a very emotional time. I hope they are all there this year, and I'll probably get all wet eyed again! Art is a true American treasure!

Thanks again nicoley, I saw Bing sing this at the Palladium in 1976, and he sang just as good. Thanks for "The Friendly Mountains" too.

@sarcip7x I don't know about Netflix, and I don't know where you live, but Birth of the Blues *is* on region 1 DVD, as a double feature with Blue Skies.

I enjoyed this performance, but the first time I recall ever hearing this song was from a movie by the same name. But it had a much slower tempo. Anyone know how it might be tagged on youtube?

Peter Pan, South Pacific and Sound of Music were as huge as anything Ethel ever did. Though Merman did beat out Mary for Annie. Mary's Broadway Caste album of Sound of Music was the #1 Billboard album of 1960!

I prefer the Buddy Holly version.
