This video shows one tip to turn and bind a 90°corner on a foamed vinyl piece.
Before doing the binding all around the quilted diamond piece the edges should be marked with a straight line and be sewn along over it with short stitches to not let the ends of diamonds stitches untie. After this it is necessary to cut close to the row of stitches we did to secure and align the piece edges.
I hope you find this information useful!

    I hear the clutch motor, but I see amazing control of the needle. How is this possible?

  • @Cechaflo

    @Cechaflo

    3 жыл бұрын

    Definitely, a servo motor is much better to get control of the needle. But, in the meantime I did some adaptations to my machines to gain more control of speeding. Not 100% but it helps a lot. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z2SrrdGahZjbl84.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/i3id28iflbvSlco.html

  • @Cechaflo

    @Cechaflo

    4 жыл бұрын

    This sample was done at 5 mm long. The maximum stitch length of these old machines are no more than 6 mm. New version 1245 gives a 8 mm stitch length.www.pfaff-industrial.com/en/portfolio/sewing-machines/flat-bed-heavy-duty/pfaff1245

    @@joefish1498 I have a vintage Durkopp&Adler 767-Fa-373 that has 8 mm for stitch length. Large stitches are mostly used on furniture. It is not advisable on cars. 4, 5 to 6 mm long are good for decorative stitching.

    There is a attachment to do binding sold for a few $$

  • @Cechaflo

    @Cechaflo

    You are right! There is a binding attachment for sale, but not so cheap: www.ebay.com/itm/PFAFF-545-BINDER-SET-SINGLE-FOLD-RIGHT-ANGLE-COMPLETE-/302295385926?_ul=MX www.ebay.com/c/1246880042 The set includes the binder itself plus an extra special needle plate (it has a rectangular hollowed opening) and feed dog with a threaded hole to fasten the gadget that would move back and forth. What I am showing in this video is a traditional way car upholsterers do binding. To improve quality it is advisable to get the proper attachment. Master Frickel shows this attachment at the beginning of his video (Pfaff 145, 545, 1245 are similar) kzread.info/dash/bejne/a36GpMhpmZXQZdY.html
