Binaural Audio: Tokyo, Shinjuku to Akihabara via train

Музыка

[HEADPHONES REQUIRED] Using a set of DIY binaural microphones, I record various soundscapes in immersive 3D stereo. NOTE: Audio has had no dynamic range processing and may go from very quiet to very loud. Best results are achieved if your headphones are turned up to their maximum.
Here I take a train from Shinjuku to Akihabara. The whole journey is here. You can also hear me recorded with my super-8 camera from time to time.
I also sell these custom binaural mics. PM if interested.

Damn, this really helped me meditate and bring me back to feeling like I am in Tokyo again. There's just something about Tokyo that's chaotic but that makes me feel really relaxed even in the midst of all the chaos.

Their train system reminds me of New York, complicated and stressful, but at the same time it's calming

@@HawkinaBox I live in NYC. Have lived here my whole life. The trains here aren't too complicated once you get used to them. I would say Tokyo's system is a little more complicated when you factor in the many different train lines. However, NYC train system is NOT AT ALL calming for me. Too much disorder and it's usually filthy with all sorts or unsavory characters who board the train. Tokyo's system is certainly hectic but there is so much more order and people are no where near as stress inducing as they are in NYC.

I've never missed a place so much. I can't explain how at home I feel in Tokyo but now I'm just sitting in my bed at 1:30am crying that I'm not there and it'll be a while before I can go back

Now THAT brings back some old memories from fifty years ago. I was an American high school student living in Tachikawa and took the Chuo line through Shinjuku to Ochanomizu and on to Akihabara at least twice a month. Aside from the chime melodies at every station, it sounds pretty much the same as it did half a century ago. Very well done.

This made me so vividly feel like I was standing on that platform again. Honestly felt so comfortable amongst the hustle and bustle there. It honestly has me cryin here. It's like I left a part of myself in that city. Made it feel like home.

The tricky thing with Tokyo is, it seems the chaos is really that: Chaotic. But really, there's an order within this chaos, and a first time tourist would definitely miss out if they went to Tokyo now amidst the pandemic and all the travel bans.
