Madam Tabassum ji, I wish to thank you for a most wonderful biography of Bina Rai ji. I being a Lahori myself, now settled in Stockholm since 1973, wanted to add that the school in Lahore where Bina Rai studied initially was the Kinnaird School for Girls on Empress Road, Lahore. Since you mentioned that her father worked in the Railways it reminded me that the Head Office of the North Western Railways was and is on Empress Road and the Sarin family must have lived in the neighbourhood.

Bina Rai recieved her Best Actress Filmfare Award in 1960 for Ghunghat which was routine melodramatic role of a suffering Indian wife and Madhubala was denied for her once in a life time performance in Mughal e Azam which she truly deserved .

I personally like her movies 'Insaniyat (1955)' with Dev Anand sahab and Dilip Kumar sahab , 'Vallah Kya Baat Hai (1962)' with Shammi Kapoor sahab & of course , her pairing with Pradeep Kumar sahab in several films . She remained largely underrated . May her soul rests in peace ! 🙏

Have watched her Ram Rajya (1967) several times over, which was directed by Vijay Bhatt. Ma'am do you have more details about this movie and its director Vijay Bhatt? Someone by the name Kumarsen played Ram in it but there is no information available about him anywhere

Both Bina Rai and Madhu Bala are an excellent heroines. I love them too much.
