Bin Laden's ABANDONED $7,500,000 Florida Mansion | DISNEY VACATION HOME
The Bin Laden Mansion, so named due to its association with Osama bin Laden who orchestrated the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, was constructed in 1928 by William Pratt, the co-inventor of Jello. Previously owned by the President of Tupperware, the estate is located on Johns Lake in Oakland and comprises a five-bedroom, seven-bathroom mansion and a four-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom in-laws house.
In December 1980, Khalil bin Laden, one of Osama's siblings, purchased the property for his wife as a wedding gift through his Florida company, Desert Bear, for $1.6 million. The mansion was then known as "Desert Bear." After the 9/11 attacks, Khalil and many of his family members left the U.S. due to safety concerns, despite having connections to a region known for terrorism and inquiries about bringing in Arabs to attend a Florida flight school. He was never implicated in the attacks.
The mansion was left vacant and suffered damage from vandals before being sold in 2006 to Aleem Hussain, who was later convicted of a $9 million real estate scam. The property was foreclosed and sold to Johns Lake Investment Group, and then to John LeClair, who made a lease-purchase agreement but abandoned the property after taking deposits for weddings and was ordered to make restitution.
In 2014, Gary and Dana English bought the property for $2 million and attempted to sell a portion of the land for a luxury apartment complex, but city commissioners rejected the proposal. The Englishs filed for bankruptcy, and the property was foreclosed upon in 2019 and resold to Cornerstone Group Development LLC for $7.7 million. The future of the mansion remains uncertain.

im a professional dog groomer and deal with fleas all the time, you didnt get them from the house, you got them outside in the long grass, most likely black fleas, they will bite you but will not live on you, just make sure they are off of you before you go inside your motel because they will live in the carpets. great video keep up the good work.

That is awesome!
The number of properties that are abandoned throughout the U.S. and around the world is astonishing! The WASTE is what I find so depressing. I think if abandonment of property is a result of bank foreclosure, there should be a law that forces banks to either re-sell the property within a reasonable timeframe or be responsible to maintain the property until then. Perhaps if these restrictions were put in place the banks might rethink foreclosing and be more willing to negotiate with buyers who may be going through a financial rough patch. To see incredible architecture and beautifully landscaped properties confiscated by the mortgage holder, only to be abandoned and let go to ruin is criminal. To have thousands of uninhabited houses owned by banks or foreign investors, while the number of homeless continues to grow out of control, clearly shows an unbalanced failure within the system. While I am a true believer in open markets and capitalism, and see socialism as a gigantic failure historically, there must be a compromise somewhere in between. Thanks for the video. It was well done.

This ain’t the only estate abandoned my parents estate is right next to this one and there’s several others nearby when my parents pass I’m selling or donating the estate to mental health housing or orphaned children. I would never need more than 4000sqft to live comfortably my parents landscaping care is $10k a month every month of the year
That house is 95 years old now that's crazy. It would be a shame to see it deteriorate even more
Shame nobody has bought the property! It deserves new life put into it, not demolishing! People are too quick to destroy buildings like this one. Beautiful mansion, l hope it survives! Gorgeous architecture and love the exposed beams and wooden ceilings too.Great explore, greetings from Australia. 🦘😟🤨☺
The fact that the roof hasn’t failed and the floors are sound is a testament to the quality of the building. It would be a real shame to lose it .
This mansion definitely has a long history of bad luck. Great content as always Steve, thank you!

Hi Steve! Watching you from Virginia Beach. I loved this house! Looks like with some spit and polish, someone could move right in. It’s gorgeous! Im crazy about the architecture. It would be so much easier to take care of than wall to wall carpets. Looks like the closets had cedar lining. That keep moths and bugs out. Such luxury! My favorite room is the master bathroom as well! Such a view from atop your “throne” while taking care of business LOL SIGN ME UP! Thanks for the great video! I really enjoy watching.

THAT BATHROOM TILE IS FROM BACK IN THE EARLY EARLY 80S BEST ROOM OF HOUSE
The amount of history this place has is unreal and considering the connections to the place. Its good that you were able to get inside plus can see how big the place was from the drone shots.
That bathroom is nice how sad that the family had to leave there home because of a bad choice of another family member
The bin Laden family is very wealthy and owns one of the largest construction companies in the world. They are the second wealthiest family in Saudi Arabia after the royals and their name is well known there
Great video! I saw this mansion on Adam the Woo's channel too, but I was hoping to he would be able to go inside. Thank you for exploring this mansion. My favorite room was the fancy bathroom with a view. The pool was amazing and the view was absolutely beautiful. Thank you for exploring this.

Hi from Portland, Oregon. What a beautiful Mansion! Its so sad that it is now over run with fleas and wasps! I mean that beautiful bathroom and the wood is destroyed with wasp nest! Its a complete shame. It has so much potential. But the history is tainted with blemish on the United States history, and because of association, the whole property became a legacy of failure. Its just sad. Maybe its better that it get torn down and rebuilt without the history and curse that that house seems to carry. Thanks Steve!

Burn it down, and build homes for the peasantry. AKA no more mansions until we get rid of the extreme price of rents and/or housing prices on properties 900 sq ft to 1,300 sq ft being no more than 25% of take home pay. These gluttonous mansions can all burn in hell for all I care. Particularly when they sit abandoned and millions of CHILDREN in the US are homeless. Along with double that of adults.
Hi Steve! Viewing from Columbia SC. I saw this home another channel and I was wishing that you would do this one. The other content creator only did the outside. I love watching your videos and think you do an awesome job. Thank you for all you do!

Please remember that this house was built in 1928 including that "loft" room, so it probably had nothing to do with being a prayer room. Of course, that doesn't mean that someone might have used it that way. It's been owned by others since the Bin Laden family, so I'm sure nothing from them is left behind now. The room you went into calling it the living room probably had a wet bar in it, thus the dishwasher and the pvc pipe coming out of the floor. I'm sure this was once an extremely beautiful home and looks like it could be that way again. It's beautiful classic 20's style has been kept for the most part thankfully. Just hoping it doesn't end up getting torn down, esp. since it's got such great history. It's such a beautiful piece of property with all that Spanish moss hanging in the trees and the lake view.

Watching from South Yorkshire England ❤️ love your content Steve thankyou!!
This mansion is beautiful indeed it look really big probably because it didn’t have the furniture in it , I thought the same thing about the prayer room it look a lot like a little mosque itself , high ceiling lot of sunlight and lot of windows in one room. It really interesting to get to see this mansion, a man is so rich and could have anything he want but that is not enough , at the end life end up without nothing ,the only thing would follow is only bad ( as it had been said do good and good will follow, do bad and bad will follow too) , very beautiful property really sad to see it abandoned and end up this way , thank you for sharing
Damn I'm going to go play the lottery so I can become a Floridian so I can buy that place it is freaking awesome 😎💕 I love that place
I feel like I got fleas on me just watching u guys lol
A couple of things here to consider. First of all… itchy skin could be from the bugs (called Chiggers) that are in the Spanish Moss you walked through. Secondly of note is all the carpet on the 2nd floor that is so smelly is due to the extreme amount of mold spores that would be flourishing in a very humid and dark environment. Thanks for sharing this walk through. I’m sure in it’s glory days it was really something to se!!
Love your Videos! Have a feeling Netflix or HBO are looking into your Channel for possible series. Good luck Man!
I want this place soooo bad!❣️ I would cut all that grass, clean that freaking pool, paint, power wash it, and have a lifetime of projects! This would be my dream If I could afford to redo it All! Gorgeous House And property ❣️

This was a great video. You took your time, filming. So often it’s rather fast and I can’t get a good look at what’s in a room. This house has so much potential. Would cost a small fortune to restore it. I would imagine if the guy had 54 siblings, some would come to visit. The huge rooms would be beneficial then.

The rich Arabs the rooms are spacious. ..I been working in Arab Country for 20 years...Watching from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
I live around the corner from this house. It's such a beautiful property, and such a shame that it's just abandoned. The big room with the beams was likely a grand dining room or ballroom. When the mansion was built in the 1920s by the co founder of Jello ,( later sold to a Tupperware exec, I believe) they would entertain on a grand scale. That was definitely a room for entertaining.
Steve this place is huge!!! You know were the dishwasher was!!! It could have been a bar there at one time!!! 😊

I've been to Burt Reynolds house in Florida a couple times I live close by because he was basically bankrupt his neighbor purchased it for $3.3 million dollars and let Bert live in that house for basically nothing until he passed away..The neighbor next-door sold it to Palm Beach County School District to put in residential houses the land is on like 153 Acres, I heard they were going to demolish the house..Before he passed the only thing Burt Reynolds owned was two cars and a truck they were sold at auction.. Sad to see him lose everything..They said he had some money when his neighbors purchases the house..Because they were good friends he gave him a couple million dollars to live off of originally the first owner was Al Capone he had a house built on that property in 1923..
That house is HUGE !! WOW it's a shame if they actually demolish that house. It has a really cool look. Oh and the fleas would be on the dead animal you found too. But yes going through the talk grass outside will get fleas and ticks on you too. Gotta love the South 🤣🤣 glad you did this video I wanted to see inside the house. Watching from Nebraska ❣️🇺🇲🇺🇲

That mansion looks like it was built on an extreme budget. In the 80's you could build something like that for roughly 100K. So the builders made bank on those oligarchs.
