Best looking bin person I've seen!

Starting tomorrow in Cardiff as a bin man. Looking forward to it, better than being stuck on factory job

Starting my loader job tomo properly excited

23 years as a driver for a local authority . The driver is right it has its stresses, mainly due to politics , noise complaints and unrealistic targets based on how fast you work, instead of time and motion and safe systems of work. That aside i stuck with it because of the hours. Being a class 1 driver, i know what its like doing containers and general haulage and 15 hour days and nights out are the norm. Could not go back to that again. Saying that, i did think about leaving due to the cost of living crises and the fact councils are in a bubble, where they pay in council bands and not what the going hgv rate is. So our wages were way to low for the job we were doing. That has been addressed, due to the fact they could not get any drivers, because they would not apply due to the low wage. That has now been addressed. and the pay reflects the hours and job we do. So the balance is just right now and now drivers are applying for jobs.

I start tomorrow via agency, 10.42/h but I hope for permanent contract after a while, I'll have to cycle 6 miles in one way l, saving up for 125 cc moped, few month ago I was a waste man, tomorrow a bin man 😅

I saw a female binnie a couple of months ago here in Milton Keynes, not the first one I have seen over the years but quite a rare sight indeed, also haven't seen her since so dunno if she lasted? hope so she was easy on the eye :)

No, the current one is elite+ but I think they're still selling some elite 6s and slowly phasing them out

£50 a day so a year is about £25.000,driver £30.000

As a driver i am on 30 K task and finish max hours 37, realistically less than 30 hours a week

Why aren't the bins on the edge of the kerb like the council policy says??? Lazy public

You want to get the cameras down at my place you’d have a field day, these guys ain’t seen nothing. Try black bin week down higher broughton in Salford you’d be on bricks

You call it bin juice too lol They would get grease from the bin lifts and ears and dirt pushing up on the euros etc.

Thay never do a hard job In my day we had to go in back yard pick up the bin empty it and take it back Now thay are on wheels and if the lids up thay won't take it

That would be 2 men doing 750 houses each with at least 2 bins per house in today's money, you aren't doing that in a day! 😉
