It is hard to argue with the price to performance off their products it’s easy to go for the bling shiny smelly cool colours products but sometimes the straight forward approach is the best one

Ordering a bottle as soon as it's released, B H product's John, do you ever mix products? I always add a little surfex to my touch-less when my car is really dirty, which seems to work really well. Keep up the good work

Used this for the first time today. It is a great product - strong cleaning power and the name ‘Trace-Less’ is not a misnomer. There was no residue or streaking that I could see but I do clean glass with two towels, a glass cloth and a softer cloth to ‘buff’. Mine didn’t come with any BH towels. In the brief time I used it I would say it is exactly as described and a very strong glass cleaner. It will likely replace Gtechnic Perfect Glass which I have used for the last 5 years (having tried most others on the market). Only negative for me is the odour. It is not inherently unpleasant but is very sugary. I can understand the comparison you made to pear drops. It is not a natural smell or one you would associate with glass cleaner and the odour lingers. Going back to the car an hour later the smell was almost ‘ozone’ if that makes any sense (if you have used an ozone machine, you will know the smell). Almost bleach, medical and sterile. Not unpleasant but not great either.

Getting glass “clean” has always been, for me anyway, my biggest frustration with detailing. Lot of claims of superior ability to clean, but with so-so results. I am going to purchase my first Bilt Hamber product. I hope it becomes available in North America.

The thing that sold me is the test they did on the removal on the dirt film and marker pen. There’s no contest, BH was clearly leagues ahead of the others. Plus there’s nothing more annoying when you’re cleaning glass and it all runs off before you can spread it! I will be getting some of this as soon as I run out.

Holy mother of awesome! This is insane.

Hey John, I have a cool glass cleaning trick that makes it easy as can be. I'm a car cleaner by profession doing dealership cars. I often get filthy cars and vans where interior glass hasn't been cleaned in years. I always get those perfectly cleaned in one easy process. I use ONR @ 256:1 and The Rag company FTW towel dunked and wrung out. Wipe that over the glass and then dry with their Double Twistress. Smoker or dog cars are no problem either. The only downside may be that it leaves a hydrohobic layer which could theoretically fog up the glass, but have never tested it against conventional cleaners or just plain water even. Clean glass by itself is very hydrophobic anyways. These twist loop towels are key as they clean greatly on their own, absorb very well and leave NO lint. They need to be in great (absorbing) shape.

Always loved BH's products. I've used a lot of their underbody products for about 10yrs now, Dynax cavity waxes, and snowfoams/touchless etc the last 5/6. They always do an excellent job, this latest one looks promising! Thanks.

Looks great. Love all the bilt hamber stuff I have used. They have been really helpful replying to emails, when I was buying the anti corrosion range. Definitely will grab the glass cleaner, never been satisfied with any glass cleaner.

*Update* I've bought a bottle of this and my automotive glass is pretty clean already so I've tried it on my glass cooker hob/ extractor fan with weeks of grease and grime as you would imagine - Mr. Muscle has a lot to answer for...😂 Bilt Hamber have absolutely nailed this glass cleaner, it's removed imbedded marks and stains that have not been able to remove leaving a completely clean fresh and brighter then ever before since I bought the extractor fan. I am truly gobsmacked if I'm honest. Bilt Hamber have done it again. 👏Also Jon, I disagree that's its at the expensive end as you get a suede cloth and a glass cloth included- it's very good value when you factor that in.

Clearly not an unbiased comment. You literally have the bilt hamber logo as your profile picture. Also, most people that will be buying this, already have plenty of cloths so it's just bumping the price up. Its like when companies put gold flakes on their food and say "well £500 for a steak isn't expensive because its got gold flakes on it"

Love Bilt Hamber & it's always my 1st choice out of my top 3 car products that I use on our Mercedes, Superb quality that delivers the best results ! Great video, Jon !!!

Will definitely be getting some. Great video and BHs tests show how good it is, do like and appreciate how BH don’t spend money on fancy advertising and pretty bottles, every bottle is same, white and blue tells you what is is, what it’s called and how to use it. No need for pretty pictures and fancy trigger bottles that are awful to hold etc. hopefully they will bring out a screen wash at some point. My car cleaning stuff at one point was all big names and bit of a mix, now it’s nearly always BH with few other bits like Autoglym thrown in.

And I've just bought the Soft99 Glass Set. This looks amazing. Now got two full glass cleaning bottles to use up before buying this one. It looks like I will still use the Soft99 compound and sealant, but will use this BH product for regular glass cleaning. I use one for the house windows, and it does a great job. Love the fact I've got articulated windows, so can clean the windows from inside. Love the Sofft99 applicator for their compound, and sealant, really did a great job of prepping the car, then applying their sealant. Using the wipers less, as the Soft99 stuff just works brilliantly, the rain just falls off especially at 60-70mph. I can only guess the Japanese flag refers to their product, don't know of any other Japanese detailing company. I look forward to longer term reviews, to see how well it stacks up, but the video was great at explaining how well their product performed. Another great video Jon, a first maybe promoting this new product?

A very interesting product, Jon. I have never been satisfied with any of the glass cleaners I have used, so I would be keen to try this. I like Bilt Hamber products. Their shampoo, snow foams, fall out remover and apc are my go to products. I agree with you on snow foams, I like to use something with a bit of bite. My coat of Soft 99 Fusso still resists it.👍

Thats very interesting !! :) Thanks Jon, I would never have known about the launch of this, if it wasn't for your vid here. Looks like a good cleaning product. I'm using rain-x window cleaner for the winter, just to top up every time I wash the car. Works well and so far has lasted a couple of months without a top up. I tried Stoners, but it does tend to run down the window a bit, but does clean well with no effort.

I use touchless, auto wash, surfex hd and atom mac. All of them are excellent products. Great brand overall.

That wee video was brilliant love seeing stuff like that

Got mine today. Tried on the inside of the windscreen. So far, I'm pretty impressed.the waffle towel that comes with it is very good. Need to drive with early morning sun to really show up the results. It has quite a strong smell, but not unpleasant

I just bought some. I guess it’s part of the first batch because wow it’s like a solvent bubblegum smell it’s pretty strong. Does what it says like it just sticks to the glass and cleans like a champ!

Looks like a breakthrough product for glass cleaning. I would like to see how stacks up against Labocosmetica Nitido. Can't wait to be able try it out when it comes to the U.S.

Mine arrived today along with 10L of Touchless, more surfex and Aircon-Bomb. Used it on the inside windscreen and the house windows which seem to get very dirty (keep the car cleaner). On it's first use it's as good as they seem to show in the add. Cleaned brilliantly. Now what do I do with my sonax and CG glass cleaner knowing the BH is much better. They are the hogwarts of the detailing world (magic). This will be my new go to glass cleaner

Outstanding results when I used it and I am really picky about clean glass - my Dad smoked a pipe and the inside glass was dreadful - so I've been fanatical since I was17

You comment on whether it is the best thing since sliced bread tempted me to contact BBC Radio 4's Sliced Bread programme in which Greg Foot investigates whether various manufacturers' claims are the best thing since sliced bread or marketing BS. Let's see if they accept my suggestion.

We use Bilt-Hamber products most of the time...cost, though, of each product has to be taken into account. Early days for this product and look forward to a future update. We presently use a upvc-trade glass cleaner by "Bond-It" which does what it says and leaves a great finish. The Bilt-Hamber hand-cleaner is excellent and leaves a fresh lemon citrus scent/smell...unlike many hand cleansers, in comparison, not much is neeeded so saving cost. It has an ingredient that feels like smooth grit which dissolves quickly and leaves smooth skin, something we have to be careful about in our Senior years.

The best glass cleaner ive ever used and its not even close, i actually dont mind the smell that much to be fair.

Has this been tested on glass with coatings on them? I believe that cars with heads up display have something on the glass, perhaps it's in the glass, but in any case it would be good to know if there are some warnings...

I clean my glass often, and because it doesn't get very dirty, I just use distilled water. Works fine.

Apologies if this has been suggested already, but … Rather than do a full test of all the cleaners again, can you not just do a comparison of this Bilt Hamber against whatever one the last time in one of your controlled tests? Product sounds good though

An interesting point you made that is totally different to my experience: if people get the inside glass grubby, the water/condensation has something to cling to. I noticed that clean glass clears quicker with the blowers, than dirty glass. Perhaps 'dirty' glass never looks clean/clear 🤔

maybe mate interesting. I remember the only complaint I ever got for the breif time I detailed cars was that the inside glass was fogging up more after I cleaned it. but maybe like you say it clears quicker.

I am so hopeful BH are doing a ceramic coating, tired of anecdotal searching through random products for the current state of the ceramic market

I've used Surfex/IPA mix in the past to clean bathroom mirrors and find they get less fogging than any other glass cleaner, I wonder if this will have the same effect (or if it's the same thing just ready mixed in the right proportions)

pretty remarkable. Although I dont believe they used Feynlab Glass Cleaner as a competitor in one of these tests....id like to compare these two against eachother personally.

Any chance of making an updated glass cleaning video and products you use etc. since this release? I know lots about cleaning bodywork but not so much about glass exterior and interior.

Im yet to find a BH product that doesnt do what it was intended to do in the way it was intended . Having used some of the anti corrosion and coating products they manufacture many years ago , that are still working well today , the quality of this new product doesnt suprise me one bit

Trace-Less is safe to use on tinted glass. However, it is always considered a good idea to check a chemicals compatibility with any sensitive substrate.

Wondering if any of the "competitor" products they tested was Invisible Glass...by Stoner. Cause so far that's my no.1 glass cleaner.

Wetting is my new favourite word and I'm going to innuendo the shizz out of it. Oh and excellent, Bilt Hamber new release and it happens to be something I need.

During the autumn and winter, my car gets caked in ash. I assume this is from someone local who is probably burning the wrong type of wood, in a smokeless area. Can you recommend the best product to remove this whilst cleaning my car please?

according to the claims this was part of their formulation goals. But three was no testing to show this. So truth is I dont know. But in my experience its wiper abrasive thats by far the biggest factor in windshield coating deg.

I think you're supposed to use the suede microfiber for the initial application and wipe of the product, and the waffle weave towel to do the final buff.

I use a few bilt hamber products. This is interesting, thanks for insight Jon. Quick question, how would you ever clean the rubbers/seals on a car door window, I hear terrible noises when the window is operated 😢. If that makes sense 🤔

2 ways to clean the window seals that wipe the glass. 1) spray an all purpose cleaner into the seal where it meets the glass, get a detail brush and agitate so you feel the brush bristles go between the seal and window. Then with a pressure washer aim on glass to spray water between the seal and glass. Be prepared to get wet 😅, if seals are green and or mucky you should see the dirt lift away with the water. If you have a car with pillarless doors then when you get to the rear end of the door aim the pressure washer nozzle it towards the back of the car so the water is deflected away otherwise it'll go into the car. 2) is with a good snowfoam, I have built hamber autofoam. I do the same as above with great results.

I have pretty much stopped watching detailing videos as it is hard to work out what is hype and what is a good product. I will definitely give this a go when I run out of glass cleaner.

first thing to do is always look at the price per X amount. And see if the product is competative. that works as a half decent filter.

Shame they aren’t doing the 5 litres yet on their website

Så sad that the import taxes are there otherwise I would order Bilt Hamber insted of looking for some alternative. Luckily I have Soft99. But mis Bilt Hamber in my car cleaning bag.

Will it cut through limescale/ water spots? Would like a glass cleaner that can be used for shower glass too.

It does an excellent job BUT it stinks. Didnt realise how bad till i used it on the inside. Took a week to stop smelling. Definitely will use it on the out side and never again on the inside.

How would trace-less work over a liquid-wiper product like Glaco-DX?

On their website it does say safe for quality costings. And that was good enough for me to order some as I also use DX
