    I love your videos. I've done several updates to my Rebel based on what you've done and your recommendations. Thanks so much for doing these vids. I do have a request, though. Could you include the actual "wrenching" in your videos? Watching how you actually do the work is invaluable for those of us that are novices.

    I literally just ordered the same struts and 5100 rear shocks from a different vendor earlier today. Wish you had posted this video yesterday. I would have ordered through the same vendor you did and would have gotten the 5160s for only $50 more. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Anyways, great video as usual

    Can you please tell me what size tires you have and what’s the measurement from the floor to the front fender with the 5100’s from your other video. Was it 1.8” plus the extra inch the rebel springs provide? I have a bighorn but thinking of going with rebel front couple and 5100’s but on the fence about tire size…34 or 35’s. Thanks and Great videos

    Based on the various suspensions you have had on this Rebel …. Looking for an opinion. I too, like a minimal 3/4” rake and the minimal lift you accomplished. For a primarily street driven 2019 Rebel, rare if any hard dirt road, used to tow car trailer 2X/yr which suspension set up would you recommend. Suspension, upper control arms(if needed), shocks, tire and rim(offset). Looking to level my truck and maintain on road manners. I do not mind a little stiffer ride but I have that “family” thing to deal with as you did. LOL.

    FYI currently running Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T in stock size (nice aggressive looking hybrid tire). Looking to get custom rims & tire combo once suspension is done.

    The 6112 and 5160's are really hard to beat. They lift the truck nicely and maintain a beautiful ride. The cost is also tough to beat when you consider Fox or Kings. If I were to look at any other kit, it would be the Fox as I've heard the ride is great with that kit but again the price is a bit higher.

    Thanks. So 6112/5160 lifts/levels and has better road ride than the 5100’s & Motofab kit for a truck that sees 99% on road? Perfect. I too like the slight 3/4” rake. Checked out the Carli kits….. seems well designed but their “commuter kit” for mostly on road is $2400. Yikes Guy in this thread stated he did same 6112/5160 setup as yours but swapped rear coils for the Carli HD Rebel versions. Carli says those are only needed if you keep 500# toolbox etc in bed at all times or may have Ram boxes that are filled. You mentioned Fox kits but I feel the 6112/5160 with new front springs will serve me well. One recommendation I can make regarding tires is the Mickey Thompson Baja A/T. (NOT the Baja M/T) Aggressive looking enough for a Rebel, quiet on road regarding noise and 3PMSF snow rated. Even in stock size looks like I have larger tires due to aggressive side biters. In the past I heard alot of positive comments on the Mickey Thompson Fun Country’s and their long tread life. These are the replacement tires using the same compound but quieter tread design for on Road use. Since I purchased mine, they now have a Baja Legend Exp hybrid tire that may even be better suited for the street.

    Last question. Going with 6112/5160 combo after your response. Also will get the sway bar links you installed. Do you feel the rough country upper control arms will work? Saw you had problem with ball-end on fab-techs. Or should I just go with the core4x4. Looking to set up same as yours. In NY

I know it would look dumb.. ☹️ but my truck got stolen recently so I need to do this.. please let me know if you have an idea how to lower a Ram rebel 5th gen. I've been told it's not possible.

    You could replace your springs with non-ORP springs which will give you a 1" drop. You can also check out the MaxTrac website which sells lowering kits for these trucks.

    Hey bud, I know you go over it in the video, but maybe I wasn't following carefully enough, so I have a question. Is your ride hide only achieved with the 1" rear spacer? Would you be able to achieve a similar 3/4" or smaller rake without the spacer by putting the front on a lower clip? Any estimation on how much ride hide you lose by using clip 6 or 7? Thanks if you get the chance to reply, I've watched your videos to death and am finally ready to install some parts on my '19 Rebel. Trying to decide if this more expensive system is the option for me, or if I want to achieve a more levelled look with the 5100s.

  • @WaterFowler41

    @WaterFowler41

    Жыл бұрын

    yup, if you don't raise the front as much, you can retain some of the rake without the need for a rear spacer. The bilstein instructions show your final heights for each position. I would hop into those and check the estimated final heights for your truck. There are different heights for trucks with and without the ORP springs.

    What’s the difference when off roading between the factory bilsteins and the 6112?

  • @WaterFowler41

    @WaterFowler41

    Жыл бұрын

    The 6112 has a larger shock body meaning more oil volume which helps with cooling. This reduces damper fade. Its not something most of us will see in normal daily driving but when you are moving quickly off-road, things will heat up. The 6112 also better rebounding due to its valving so it can handle quite a bit more off road.

    This kit is much softer than the Fabtech kit. The Fabtech is a purpose built off road coilover over where as this bilsteins are much softer and slow speed bumper friendly.

    The 5100 and 5160 says that the lift is 0-1" for rear shocks on the Rebel and Off-Road package 1500 trucks. How is the lift switched between 0 and 1 inch?

  • @WaterFowler41

    @WaterFowler41

    Жыл бұрын

    You need to add a spacer, the shocks can accommodate an extra 1" of lift but you need a spacer to actually provide the lift.
