Billygoats Bluff Track

We tackled the Billygoat Bluff Track near Dargo, Victoria, the other week. Last time I did it, my camera went flat and all I had was rear facing footage.... well, this time I recorded the whole thing.
If youre thinking of taking this track on with an adventure bike, here's your homework.

    I've done it on an RMX250, a KTM 200, and a Beta 450. I have a 701 ATM but haven't ridden it much. It was a really fun climb on the mighty KTM 200. I just rang it's neck all the way up, that's when I was fit, I'd need a rest along the way these days.

    Gnarly stuff indeed.Had to laugh hearing you huffing and puffing,and you're a young bloke.Have just bought myself a little XT250 to get better off road,hoping to learn some skills to use on my CB500X,being a total newbie to the dirt stuff.Had my first serious ride on Wednesday around Latrobe State Forest with 4 mates from my club,VJMC.It took 3 hours to do 70 k's,and boy was I worn out,lots of huffing and puffing from this 70 year old, have had some serious health issues last few years so trying to do stuff while I still can.Bet you're glad you took the easier option from the top rather than turn around.As always,great vid mate,cheers

    mate awesome riding. I haven't done this track, but judging by the footage it's steeper than anything I have ridden. Unless you have been up in these hills, it's hard to tell how steep these tracks are, and how technical. Ass-puckering stuff.

    Commendable effort by all of you. Thanks for the ride. BTW, if you occasionally hold the camera horizontally looking out from the track (taking in some of the nearby trees) would it give a better idea of the gradient? What is the gradient of the steeper parts of the climb? Cheers Simon

  • @Nerb1

    @Nerb1

    Жыл бұрын

    Im not sure what the actual gradient is, but there is several vertical step-ups. Watching this back myself, it is hard to spot them, but a few times i just cracked the throttle and hit them and the 21" just rolls up them provided you carry a bit of speed.
