Billy Walters on gambling, Phil Mickelson, prison and more | The Golfer’s Journal Podcast

You might have heard that gambling legend Billy Walters is releasing a book, and that Phil Mickelson is prominently involved. But have you heard the rest of the story? The one in which Walters is raised in the pool halls of rural Kentucky, rises to legitimate business power on the Las Vegas Strip and uses his time in prison to do some good for other inmates? Walters joins host Tom Coyne to chat about Phil, the $100 million in losses, that $400,000 Ryder Cup wager and the two-year sentence Walters claims Mickelson could have prevented had he testified. But you’ll also hear the rest of a remarkable golf life.

Validate your accusations!? How has ever ‘snaked’ anyone you know of or who claims such awful, false indictments.

The more you know about sports the more you realize what a crapshoot sports betting is. BW was generally good at gambling and landed in jail. FIGJAM was arguably the worst gambler ever and was saved by a Saudi golden parachute. Does Phil realize how lucky he really is?

Yeah sports betting really doesn't have a whole lot to do with how much you know about sports like a trivia guy wouldn't be good at it. Being able to find information that's not being valued enough in the line and realizing this. I've been doing it at a seriously high levels for 15 years now and information is what wins. I don't follow it is closest a ton of people but I know what to look for in each sport and it's different. The bottom line is the points for it obviously makes things equal more or less in the edges are extremely small. If one can hit 55% against point spread numbers they're in the elite top 1% in the world and she quit their job tomorrow cuz they'll never make more money doing anything else. The problem is basically no one can do that. The key is to have as many places to bet, but within your bankroll and have a big bankroll and even then your 3% edge or whatever needs to be turned over billions of dollars each year bet

Ok was Phil prosecuted ...yes or no...if not then this is all talk from a fellow who rightly or wrongly has a major beef with Phil. If all what he states is the truth, produce the credible and verifiable evidence. Besides, he trying to sell a book. So, I think he may have a motive for releasing the story. Where is the collaborating evidence? If there is none, then what he states is hearsay.

The word is "corroborating" by the way not "collaborating"
