That story is not true. Billy was shot and killed that night.All his friends there saw him,they cleaned his body, put candles around his body and prayed over him. Ole Brushy was only 4 years old when BTK was killed. SAD but billy was killed that hot Moon light night!!

I read everything I can possibly find about Billy the kid. This is the first time I heard that he had an aunt and was raised by her after his mother died.

After three mistakes, I can understand why Garret decided to cut his losses and claim a win. It seems totally believable that Billy the Kid may have lived for decades after his death was supposed to have occurred.
