*Lyrics In a crooked little town, they were lost and never found Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves on the ground I hitched a ride, until the coast To leave behind, all of my ghosts Searching for something, I couldn't find at home Can't get no job, can you spare a dime? Just one more hit, and I'll be fine I swear to God, this'll be my one last time! In a crooked little town, they were lost and never found Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves on the ground Run away before you drown, or the streets will beat you down Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves on the ground When it gets dark, in Pigeon Park Voice in my head, will soon be fed By the vultures, that circle round the dead! In a crooked little town, they were lost and never found Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves... on the ground Run away before you drown, or the streets will beat you down Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves on the ground I never once thought, I'd ever be caught! Staring at sidewalks, hiding my track marks! I left my best friends, or did they just leave me? In a crooked little town, they were lost and never found Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves on the ground Run away before you drown, or the streets will beat you down Fallen leaves, fallen leaves, fallen leaves on the ground Run away before you drown! I remember listening to this album many times over and never really paying any attention to their lyrics. Now that I'm older I can appreciate this song so much more now that I understand them better. I wish many of us could have understood them while in the band's prime. For those who are probably listening to them for the first time or just maybe the lyrics are a bit too challenging to make out, they are talking about a person who had his fair share of problems and decided to leave them behind but instead got lost to drugs. To the point where even his own friends left him behind, like fallen leaves on the ground.

Benjamin sings his heart out for sure but, the emotions are leaking through his body's all and every inch, and that's what I call commitment at singing. Steals your attention. So damn powerful. Pseudonym's never been a robbery. He('s living) embodies songs, thus, talent(ed). That's not all there is to them (not overlooking the rest of the band), their writing is excellent imo. Every so often, I think it's important to look at your music taste and ask "How did we get to now?" This band answers just about everything for me. Been listening since I was three years old thanks to my mother and this was my jam for _years._ I got into the modern pop punk scene after rediscovering the concept of music the year before that with all of the 2000's stuff. Over the past few months I've gotten into post-hardcore which was no surprise but then I started getting into metalcore and stuff. Here I am now, appreciating the classics that have been queued up with my now favourite bands such as The Story So Far and ERRA. The past couple years has just been one musical epiphany after another and I have this band to thank for starting all of that.

Damn this song really captured my struggles back when I just finished high school in late 2000s. Struggled with college, broke, having to take shitty, dead-end part time job, no friends (went 3 state over so I was practically alone). Dropped from college, didn't tell my parents, then reapply for something I actually like. Thankfully the board told me I can reapply except that I have to go straight back to freshman.
This band, Alter Bridge, and Sevendust should have been the STANDARD for modern hard rock! Absolutely a tragedy the talent the mainstream audience tends to let go.
