Just discovered this line up a few days ago. They sound terrific. Been a long time fan of Billy's, not so much about Portnoy, though he's technically great and had never paid muh attention to Ritchie until now. So glad I found this, keeps hope in good new rock bands high.

Richie does look really tired, but this is at the end of their tour so I wouldn't blame him. Also I think he zones out a bit as well, you can see it when he's playing as well, he gets lost in thought regardless of whats going on around him.

Despite of his mates; Richie is a living soul; (like Axl Rose) no one that has worked with him AFAIN has the talent and passion he has. If he left his beard grow; so what? (This is why you think he´s old and and tired, but it´s only a mirage); he always was that calm, and had this expressions on his face; he´s the same as always; but he´s -in love- now; (he talks about how he feels love in almost all his works) then; he can let him be himself a little bit more ´cause this Brazilian babe, and the hammering band he has now; whit his long-friend Sheehan. Portnoy is only an acquaintance. You give him a breath... I´ll make a prayer for all... he´s a son of God. Peace.

Make sure you lose it well: there is a lot of exploring to be done with finger picking. I use the flesh of my fingers in a modified form of Piedmont Blues (thumb, index, and middle) style picking which my hand wanted to do anyway. My modifications came when I thought about my thumb movement and hand position in terms of classical guitar planting and rest strokes.

JoshMetal316 just saying he looks wiped out and it's bizzare that both Billie and Mike said "we never thought of using Richie and then suddenly we realized that we could like we weren't seeing the forrest because of all the trees" It's also bizare that R. doesn't dress very rockn roll anymore and that he's quit playing with a pick and instead plays with his fingers which also isn't very rocknroll

***** IMO what matters is the sound and the feeling I couldn´t care less about the looks or if he decides to play a fender with his fingers, yeah billy and mike have said that, but if they didnt want him they would just say no and move on, but they didnt because they liked the result
