As a Hawks supporter growing up in the 70's and 80's, I remember Billy being the best mark in the VFL in the defensive area. He was great to watch. RIP Billy

Me too. I’m 54 saw many of his games at vic park in the 80s. What a mark, what a character, what a magpie legend

I've seen only two Collingwood Champions....Daicos and this guy. He played against taller opponents every week, could barely kick it 30 yds....and yet rarely lowered his colors.

Played for Collingwood wearing the famous 25 from 1974-1983, played for the Sydney Swans for 2 seasons in 1984-85, then returned to Collingwood for 1986 where I assume in his time at Sydney, someone else at Collingwood got 25, so he ended up with 2 for his last season
