Very good song and production, and Billy is in top form vocally here - the video is quite strange but I figure it was about getting visual attention. A cave packed with weird reptile/man-like creatures who seem bent on a hedonistic lifestyle but are quite ignorant of make-up and how to achieve a smooth, pretty face, and a knight going in there and eloping with the girlfriend of one of the lizardmen...wtf? :D

The film also has Star Wars ties: The Dark Crystal was produced by Gary Kurtz, who also produced Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. Plus, creature puppeteers Mike Quinn, Tim Rose, Frank Oz, and Kiran Shah who performed Kira, Aughra, etc. in the film also performed characters in the Star Wars saga such as Yoda, Admiral Ackbar, Nien Nunb, Teedo, Nambi Ghima, etc. Yes, I wave my GEEK flag proudly!😊

One thing's for sure, the 90's werethe shittiest, it was then when everything turned sour. And it went down ever since. God damned wars, Screw the crazy billionaires and their fucking greed. We could have lived on so nicely together after the fall of the Iron curtain in '89. But the US had to ruin it for everybody with their"All level full worldwide domination". Fuck that shit! And now our own criminal governments help Bill Gates woith the killing of 7 billions and the eternal enslavement of the rest. Of course that insane megalomaniac evil scheme will go wrong catastrophically andhuman history will end in a manmade nuclear holocaust that kills 90% or so of all life on the planet..In the 80's at least people knew that war and blind hating on one another, nukes hunger and the destruction of the environment was something that needed to be stopped by comming together, do some sharing and cooperation without taking away everybodys freedom to do his thing and respectingthe need for privacy and tight limitation to the governments ability to turn us all into some kind of neitered worker ants. Yeah the 80's were not so bad, give a like if you're born in '68 such as I. I agree. I prefer this to "Caribbean Queen," although I like that song, too. "Love really hurts without you" is also very worthwhile, but it was released a few years after it's time. If it had come out a few years earlier it could have been a bit hit.

Billy Ocean can't have 550 k subscribers on KZread. He deserves 100 million and more. His music transcends generation AKA growing up in the 1980s and 1990s.

Billy Ocean is a multi-Grammy nominee and a Grammy winner. I don’t see how that is someone who is considered “underrated.”

Many artists from the 70s were trying out different genres than they were known for and had lots of success and 80s music holds up better over time. Plus never forget the 70s tried to kill off disco.

Billy Ocean, was a must, on any of my mix tapes in the 80s. This song brings back so many wonderful summer memories of my youth. We always had dances on friday and Saturday nights. Such awesome times. Also cruising the main drag, on a weekend night. Can't imagine this song not bringing back such memories for others,here

Billy Ocean was one of the best male vocalist in pop Music in the 80's in my opinion. He deserves a lot more acclaim. As a fellow West Indian, I suspected he would have been much more popular in the US if he was born in the US instead of the West Indies. Yes, I am being cynical of the way in which the American music industry treated foreign artists in those days. Same thing happened to our reggae icon, Bob Marley. His music was met with apathy by the American music mainstream in the 70's and 80's.

Saw Billy perform at the Forever Young Festival here in Ireland a few days ago and he was fantastic. So warm and engaging, in great voice and what a mover! The 80s was such a wonderful decade. I was blessed to be a teenager during that special time. ❤

Every decade has its problems, but like. Why do you want to regress? What about the tech filled future scares/unsettles you so much that you'd prefer to go back? Just saying, this is the best time to be alive. Modern medicine is amazing, technology is the most powerful tool we have ever had. Sure, social media sucks. But that's one bad thing out of a plethora of good shit. You couldn't do this in the 80s, go online and find your favorite songs from childhood. That's pretty cool, is it not? Think about all the shit that sucked from the 80s, and what we use now Instead. Like, do you really want car phones back?

Hola , yo la escuché en 1989 por primera vez esta canción y la cancion suddenly( mi favorita de las baladas ) las busqué desde esos años y hoy a esta hora 01:05 de la madrugada por fin las encuentro , estoy feliz ! Tenía 14 años en ese entonces hoy tengo 49 y las escucharé hasta mis últimos días , Billy océan genial ! Soy de Chile 🇨🇱 saludos .

pretty sure this ranked on the top songs of 1985, as the way the calendar is read in billboard magazine. It ranked higher than Duran Duran (wild boys and View to a kill) and was considered a crossover (on multiple record charts). What we don't understand is, why does anyone not consider this track. Underrated is not enough to describe this track and amazing video.

Billy Ocean has one of the most amazing vocals. I encourage everyone to listen to his other songs, not just the hits. He's beautiful!!!!

I agree. My favorite song of Billy ocean

I love Billy Ocean. Fun fact; he was born with an extra lobe on his right lung. Doctors actually called it a "3rd" lung. He could sing and hold them notes like nobody else.
