I remember back in 2009 I wanted to apply for an apprenticeship with Billy. I was on his site all the time. One of the faq questions was about that. He had it listed that he didnt really take apprentices. Im disappointed now that I didn’t try anyway because he is a great teacher and seems to want to teach
Thank you Billy. I know you get this all the time, but I need to be grateful for you being the person who inspired me to enter the world of welding and fabrication. I was lost in my teenage years( didn't knew what to do with my life), now I own a shop, making an excellent way of living with it, helping my community and being a mentor to the youth.

So great to read. Jesse & I were talking about this recently, about how many have told us that we inspired them. It’s really a remarkable blessing, to be considered an inspiration. When we were doing TV shows 20 years ago, that wasn’t even on our radar. We were just trying to survive & succeed in a brutal industry. What a nice comment to read. Congratulations on your success, and bravo for paying it forward.

Afew months ago, I jumped outta bed & screamed to my wife: "Billy Lane lives here..BILLY LANE LIVES HERE!" She just looked at me crazy..lol. Billy, that was awesome to watch. I’ve been watching you do your thing since I was 12 back in the early 2000s watching biker build off and you still literally make me want to get up mid video and go out in my shop to work, as you’ve always done. Those are the videos the world needs, motivation feeds on curiosity and man, knowledge is its best friend. Keep being the artist you are, my friend. I hope young folks are as inspired by you, an even Jesse as I was by Michael parks in then came Bronson . Can’t believe it’s been 20 years since introduced to the work you guys do. Im both thankful and impressed that you’ve both continued sharing your craft with the rest of us. As far as I’m concerned you guys are as cool as Bronson! Maybe even cooler! ✌️❤️

That’s why I made this video. I can hammer, roll, shrink, & stretch- but that’s beyond the capabilities of most. I needed a tank done quick over 20 years ago, so I came up with this design concept. It takes me three full days to complete a tank like this, including pressure test, but I’m able to do it with only a bandsaw, snips, & my tig welder. Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts.

Thanks for another "looking over your shoulder" experience while you are fabricating, welding. That vessel is a piece of functional art, almost seems unfitting to call it a gas tank. And that Carl's speed shop typhoon carburetor, you need all the gas you can get eh? It is ridiculously perfect! 🤣

Great stuff as always Billy. Definitely a blast from the past. We all now get to see just how difficult these builds were in those crazy time periods of Biker Build Off. welding aluminum alone is a true art form. The shaping and creativity with that metal is next level.

Thank you. The seat thing is subtle, but it makes a huge difference. The tank is a lot of work, but it may be made with no special metal shaping equipment. Because of the blower, I need extra fuel capacity.
Imagine how dope his ideas could be with a CNC machine with 100% accurate cuts. I understand the old school style but I'm willing to bet he'd be down for a business that builds all his classic tanks and framed. He used to farm a lot of it out anyways. I'm sure he could have a CNC in the mix. It's obvious that he's a business man first. A good connection to someone who can properly make videos and some kids wth CNC experience and he'd be back on top

another great presentation , AHH the eighties an nineties , i like SU's we used to make homemade manifolds and fit them to our flathead 45's sometimes , in ozzi we didnt have many v8 cars the old cars were straight six { a smaller blue flame six } , so we ran tripple SU's , but bein young blokes and jack of all trades but master of none we had constant battles with them , but we got those old 50's n 60's GM holdens takin off in a shower of shi**t we were pretty pleased with ourselves , cheers big ears from down under
