Lyrics:
I've been stranded in the combat zone
I walked through Bedford Stuy alone
Even rode my motorcycle in the rain
And you told me not to drive
But I made it home alive
So you said that only proves that I'm insane
You may be right
I may be crazy
But it just may be a lunatic you're looking for
Turn out the light
Don't try to save me
You may be wrong for all I know
But you may be right

Lyrics Friday night I crashed your party Saturday I said I'm sorry Sunday came and trashed me out again I was only having fun Wasn't hurting any one And we all enjoyed the weekend for a change I've been stranded in the combat zone I walked through Bedford Stuy alone Even rode my motorcycle in the rain And you told me not to drive But I made it home alive So you said that only proves that I'm insane You may be right I may be crazy But it just may be a lunatic you're looking for Turn out the light Don't try to save me You may be wrong for all I know But you may be right Remember how I found you there Alone in your electric chair I told you dirty jokes until you smiled You were lonely for a man I said take me as I am 'Cause you might enjoy some madness for a while Now think of all the years you tried to Find someone to satisfy you I might be as crazy as you say If I'm crazy then it's true That it's all because of you And you wouldn't want me any other way You may be right I may be crazy But it just may be a lunatic you're looking for It's too late to fight It's too late to change me You may be wrong for all I know But you may be right You may be right I may be crazy But it just may be a lunatic you're looking for Turn out the light Don't try to save me You may be wrong for all I know You may be right You may be wrong but you may be right You may be wrong but you may be right You may be wrong but you may be right You may be wrong but you may be right You may be wrong but you may be right You may be wrong but you may be right You may be wrong but you may be right You may be wrong but you may be right You may be wrong but you may be right

At the age of 10 my daughter knew every word on this album, and a couple other Billy Joel albums. I used Billy Joel to teach her that an album is full of great songs, but you'll never know if you don't listen to the whole album. These days I've heard her singing Billy Joel songs with her children.
Senior in high school 1980 cruising through oak hill Ohio in my 73 cutlass cranking this up on 8 track lawd take me back 😫
"If I'm crazy then it's true / That it's all because of you...."
From the opening riff of smashing glass to the fading end this song is like a floor-boarded Ferrari. Love Joel’s strong vocals and the too short sax solo, this song is superb.
This one might be pure rock and roll, but Billy is much more than just a rock musician. He borrows from many genres. He's pure New York. The patrons of the Long Island bar were right on that Saturday night long ago when they wondered "man, what are you doing here?"

I learned firsthand (from the passenger's seat, mercifully) that as amazing as this song is, it's a terrible idea to play it while driving; else you might mistake the opening for glass shattering in your surroundings. That said, It's one of my favorites, and one I belt out (whether I mean to or not initially) whenever I hear it! Music is one thing that, done well, never truly shows the signs of aging. In a few centuries, people will still be keeping their neighbors up at parties, shouting along with songs like this one! (Hey, I may be wrong about that last bit, but you've gotta admit: I may be right.)

Because music is a subjective experience, what you or find pleasurable can be literally painful to others. Example: Eninem's voice has a pitch to it in most of his music that gives me a headache if I listen for more then a few minutes but gathering from his success others like his voice.
This guy is a genius. I listened to him a lot when I was working on shearing teams in the Western Australian Wheatbelt.
When I was a kid maybe 92' or 93' my brother and friends would jump around the living room with pillows as guitars rocking to Billy Joel 😂 we didn't know anything, only that this rocks!
This is my one of my many favourite Billy Joel songs I don’t think I could ever pick a favourite there’s just far too many sensational songs to chose from.
By far my favorite Billy Joel song! So many memories.
I'm convinced Billy Joel is actually a painter, as all of his music makes a masterpiece
Oh my god, i love this song. Amazing.
I had this album in high school - Glass Houses - my brother and I knew every word to "It's Still Rock And Roll To Me" - I still love the song and the associated memories - reminds me of "Magic Mountain" (Six Flags/Great America) in 1980 - a band did a cover of it at the park.
Really my favorite billy Joel album .. a classic for sure!
