A good friend told me her billy Joel story once. She saw him live and it was his birthday. she takes him birthday balloons and he spots them in the crowd and ends up playing the show with her balloons at his side tied off to his piano. She said he was dating Christie Brinkley at that time and he gave them to her at the end of the night. My friends no longer with us and everytime I hear Billy Joel it makes me smile and cry thinking of how excited she was telling me that story. It makes it seem like she's sitting here again.

It really helped me learn the notes without you even knowing! I love playing 'Piano man,' 'NewYork State of Mind,' etc - as a very very late learner - ( self taught) your music really helped me learn the notes through listening and application. Mainly, its the joy you bring to your music. I would even go so far as suggest that every music college should have your music book on their shelves. You make it a pleasure to learn. @@billyjoel8554 Well, that is a tough question. The early seventies .. .I loved your music, and lyrics from the get-go BUT .. when somebody told me that you were from dA Bronx .. I replied 'Da Bronx'? Never heard of it. I'm from Bensonhurst! Your lyrics have alway been the background music of my life. For instance, I was going thru divorce back in the mid eighties. I moved out to LA. Was there a short time, when my friend/girlfriend, moved out there afterwards. When she got out there I found that my son was having serious issues so I went back immediately. He was more important that my own life. My girl friend stayed in LA. After two years I went out to pick her up, and we drove back to N.Y.. Guess what song I was playing as we were on the freeway, leaving. Every time we hear it, that comes up. I still play it and new York State of Mind . but I listen to everything you have recorded. It is incredible .. that you have never recorded anything that was not great. You put reality to music. The music of all our lives. Are you sure that you were not born in Brooklyn? Well ... Dion and the Belmonts were from DA Bronx. I am not sure that that was you asking this question, or if it was directed at me ... but I can make believe. I would be honored if it was. AMEN .... I met him when he played in Seattle...was wandering around trying to find my seat...was at the back of Key Arena...and this guy walked out in jeans and sport coat...asked what i was trying to do...said i wanted to find my seat...he told me to ask one of the people around the corner...so I wandered off and found my seat...up on the balcony, first row...looking at the stage...and damn if that boyoh who helped me was Billy!!!! I stood up during the show...waved...(he didn't forget me cuz i had waist length hair and look like Liz Taylor but at 28...laughing)...and that lovely man...saw me waving....stood up...walked to the side of his piano...and looked directly at me...and blew me a kiss....my GOD he is ....he is... one of the loveliest kindest down to earth people I have met... he is awesome...i just wish I would have recognized him back in that hall!!!! LAUGHING....

後楽園球場に北海道から行きました。また見ることが出来てうれしいです。
現地に行ったのですが、ピアノが回転する度、Billyが歌いながら弾きながらピアノ上のお水を移動させていたんだと！KZreadならではの発見でした。先日のドームも行きましたがやはりBillyは最高に良いです！！

もともと、カーペンターズやアバのファンだったのでビリーは、聞いていなかったんです。同時代に活躍していたんだよね。何か心境の変化でとても好きになってしまいました。カラオケで歌ってビリーの歌をもっと勉強して行きたい。とても難しいですが😆

Listening to Piano Man, with the audience singing the lyrics was fantastic!
I tried to bid on tickets. Within 10 minutes he sold out. It was for my brother. All time favorite singer. Congratulations billy Joel on success. You are very loved

Billy Joel went to my high school. Academics were not his real interest. His strengths were music and creativity Paid his dues for choosing a career in music which is why there is so much joy in his music. Before you can feel joy you have to pay your dues in life and not give up on your dreams.

I'm really happy that he came to Tokyo! If possible, I want you to come to Kyoto, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Hokkaido, Ehime prefecture, Hiroshima prefecture, Nagano prefecture, and many other places. This would be all over Japan ♪ For him, we shouldn't put pressure on him.

@@billyjoel8554 Hi Billy I'm from Bristol England. I know your music from my vinyl days of listening to your many songs and sounds. Plus, I have your piano book. It really helped me learn the notes without you even knowing! I love playing 'Piano man,' 'NewYork State of Mind,' etc - as a very very late learner - ( self taught) your music really helped me learn the notes through listening and application. Mainly, its the joy you bring to your music. I would even go so far as suggest that every music college should have your music book on their shelves. You make it a pleasure to learn. I just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU.. I maybe a stranger but I am fan of your music... So that is how it goes... Hope you have a happy day, knowing you've made a difference.

@@billyjoel8554 Well, that is a tough question. The early seventies .. .I loved your music, and lyrics from the get-go BUT .. when somebody told me that you were from dA Bronx .. I replied 'Da Bronx'? Never heard of it. I'm from Bensonhurst! Your lyrics have alway been the background music of my life. For instance, I was going thru divorce back in the mid eighties. I moved out to LA. Was there a short time, when my friend/girlfriend, moved out there afterwards. When she got out there I found that my son was having serious issues so I went back immediately. He was more important that my own life. My girl friend stayed in LA. After two years I went out to pick her up, and we drove back to N.Y.. Guess what song I was playing as we were on the freeway, leaving. Every time we hear it, that comes up. I still play it and new York State of Mind . but I listen to everything you have recorded. It is incredible .. that you have never recorded anything that was not great. You put reality to music. The music of all our lives. Are you sure that you were not born in Brooklyn? Well ... Dion and the Belmonts were from DA Bronx. I am not sure that that was you asking this question, or if it was directed at me ... but I can make believe. I would be honored if it was. I grew up in N.J. but was never privileged enough to see u live although I always wanted to. I enjoy all music from classical to Boy George, most favorite Genesis. Anyway u are the appitemy of American music. Sure helps being from the Northeast !! And we used to look alike. Bless U Bill Koodoos love ya

AMEN .... I met him when he played in Seattle...was wandering around trying to find my seat...was at the back of Key Arena...and this guy walked out in jeans and sport coat...asked what i was trying to do...said i wanted to find my seat...he told me to ask one of the people around the corner...so I wandered off and found my seat...up on the balcony, first row...looking at the stage...and damn if that boyoh who helped me was Billy!!!! I stood up during the show...waved...(he didn't forget me cuz i had waist length hair and look like Liz Taylor but at 28...laughing)...and that lovely man...saw me waving....stood up...walked to the side of his piano...and looked directly at me...and blew me a kiss....my GOD he is ....he is... one of the loveliest kindest down to earth people I have met... he is awesome...i just wish I would have recognized him back in that hall!!!! LAUGHING....
