Its amazing what the human body can tollerate, while others die of a seemingly little thing.

I adore Billy Idol. Every time I hear him on the radio I blast the speakers. I’ll forever be thankful for my father for the music he raised me on.

Absolutely, I adore his music, it got everything in it.

I’m glad he's still with us. He may be a boomer but he 100% represents the OG Gen X. Love him.

Billy is one of the most awesome humans I've ever had the pleasure to know. Amazingly intelligent, loving, generous and grateful. ...and still rides his motorcycle every single day.

I was once an addict with very little time to live. I'm 10 years sober now and what matters in life has really become clear. Godspeed Billy Idol ✌️ I know a little bit of where you're coming from. ❤️

That's awesome. And I too can relate. Havent touched booze in 14 yrs...and clean from dope for 9. It's a hard road. But it is worth it.

I know how you both feel. I'm 8 years free from subway sandwiches. Them meatball subs are highly addictive and can ruin your life at over £7 for just one foot long, they know you are going to buy a drink and probably a cookie too. So before you know it you are £10 in every trip you make. Me I was making 2-3 trips per day I was really quite dangerously hooked to the point I was spending over £10000 a year on sandwiches. I could have bought myself my dream car (Honda jazz 1.4i EX) after three years of addiction. I know own my very own Honda jazz and have grown up loads since then. I'm now going down the same road with jacket potato's but that a story for another day.

Absolutely love Billy Idol and his music. I loved the 80's. He's had his demons but I hope he's on a good path now. 🙏😊

When that "bitter taste" song came out I couldn't stop listening to it. It is excellent and soulful. One of my top songs still right now.

I feel bad that he struggled so hard with drugs and alcohol, but man do I love me some Billy Idol music.

I adore Billy Idol, and to this day I still have a crush on him. I love seeing him on Instagram with his grandkids. It shows a different side of him, one that's sweet and adorable. It just makes me love him even more. #foreverrebelyell

With such a rip roaring addicted personality, I’m so thankful he survived, and still going. I too have an addictive personality, and people that don’t, can’t truly understand it. You have to walk in the shoes of an addicted person to really get it. I’m in recovery as well, and have been sober since 2008. Unfortunately I severely broke my back by falling, and ended up with 5 vertebrae being fused. I have no choice but to take pain meds for the daily excruciating pain. I’m “physically addicted”, but I don’t use my medicine recreationally. I don’t get the warm fuzzies anymore, and haven’t in years, cuz the pain eats it up, which is just fine by me. Addiction sucks so bad, especially for those on illicit street drugs. They’re almost impossible to let go of. Thank goodness Billy made it through. He still has to be careful though, because addiction never goes away.

took my kid to outdoor concert former CNE stadium Toronto. she boasted about it at school next week even showed them the ticket stub. the guitarist was something else.

A friend is a recording engineer who was a tech at a studio where Billy Idol was supposed to record in the 90's. According to him, they spent a few days and didn't record a note. It was stardust and professional girlfriends the whole time. Those studios are expensive and though ultimately Idol was paying for the time, I'm sure the record label wasn't impressed.

Alright, now I've got something to chat with my eye doctor about: So, just wondering, how do you remove contact lenses when they fuse to your eyeballs?

Nothing against Billy Idol but I'm glad he didn't get the part for T2, that would have sucked!

Funny that.

I've taken most drugs over the years, & I can actually personally identify with some of these crazed stories. But I'll say this: whilst I am not ENDORSING hard drugs, I have to avow that no drug ever got me in more trouble with the authorities than alcohol. I was quite familiar with the drunk tank, & the times I've taken a beating from police, it's been when I am blind drunk acting like a psycho. Hey, I still smoke weed (& take a little speed from time to time), but I haven't been drunk in about 6 years now. & in those years, I have had zero interactions with the police. I just get high, sit in my room & write, instead of bein drunk & going out on the town hall blacked out & full of drunken rage & bravado. Hell was inevitably the result. I have a much more "manageable" life now, to heist a word from the 12-Step people.🦃
