My Dad introduced me to Billy Fury. What a wonderful voice. Smooth. Some great songs. The UK Elvis...

billy was a one off,he could hold a candle to this new ones ,i miss these songs.

A good lad Billy from Dingle south Liverpool, loved animals and. Birds, a sensitive soul.

After all these years Billy fury was and will allways b part of my teenage and best years why is he never on any of the 60s programmes on TV I watch all in hope 😔

I grew up in the Billy Fury era, I feel I was privileged , Billy and Elvis untouchable.

My mam loved it and now she as gone I love it x

Billy Fury had a really good voice but heart problems ruined his health and passed at 42. such a shame as he was very talented and was a good song writer and was blessed with a very handsome face. x RIP. Miss you lots Billy.

Love this guy , beautiful inside and out. Very kind caring and gentle natured, never went to school much spent most of his time in hospital with an illness which eventually killed him age 42yrs. As he got older he bought a farm and lived there till he passed away, he was actually called the Elvis of Britain. He went to America to meet Elvis. And apparently he didn't speak to Elvis all the time he was with him. He was a very very shy man. Even when being interviewed you cud see. It . He talked sooo calm, shy and placid, love all his songs they always touch my heart, and always will. He had sooo many ops and he mentioned he had nearly died. He was from Liverpool and there is a statue of him there which I wud like to see, if I ever visit Liverpool. This beautiful man had kindness written all over his beautiful face which isn't very hard to see. 😱😱😱😱😱😱♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Hi Susan. You're right about what a nice man he was. Billy, (or Ronnie as he was really called), worked on the tugboats with my dad and once bought me a fantastic space gun water pistol. A lovely feller. Such a shame about his illnesses, which wouldn't be a problem today.

A beautiful man , sooo gentle natured !!!! It's a shame he had to die young. !!!! I watched a interview. He was saying how he was in and out of hospital all his childhood and because of it he missed out on being in school. And he found it hard to make friends because he just got used to one lot then he went back and they were all strangers again . I cud see the sadness in his face when he spoke about it. It just touched my heart I cud really feel for him !!! He gave me the impression he was a laid back go with the flow kind of man !!!! He seemed so loving and caring. And when he retired he lived on a farm.and I cud see on pictures and videos of him how he adored and loved his animals . It is a pity that God only ever takes the best. He came from Liverpool and I have seen a picture of a statue they have of him in liverpool.wud love to have a day out in Liverpool and have a look and take a picture of it !!!! Susan slater

Just read your interesting comment, every culture has its share of evil and good . I personally take solice that the majority of people in the world are good and Billy with his love of animals and humble fairness to everyone has gone to a better world where evil does not exist.

There has never been one that could hold a candle to Billy in the UK - his unique delivery was phenomenal. Hard to believe he was such a shy and retiring individual in real life his stage presence is something to behold. RIP Billy

i first saw Billy in the early 60s in Bristol,I then moved Lancashire,where i had the chance to see this great underatated singer singer perform.Simply the best
