Billy's like great whiskey, He just gets better with age. Even with the not so great notes on a acoustic guitar at a couple of spots because you can't cheat a little with dirty overdrive and sustain on an acoustic like you can electric guitar for sure he made it work. A true pro don't ever stop they push through like it never happened. Although the beginning licks were pretty damn good imo.

Billy says he plays 7s exclusively but those strings look huge to me. I wonder if he made the story up to throw the tone chasers off his trail.

For his normal rig yes he uses 7's but you have to remember he is playing slide here in open e tuning so he than likely has to use 10s or 11s for the open tunings.

I think your partially correct but he still got dem blues bruh so more power to him, he can still outplay crap loads of most modern artists if you want to call em that. Today's music sux ass, compared to the 50's thru 90's and a few in the early 2000's, auto tune and rap crap rulz the charts now bro. What we have now is a sad, sad situation in the world of music.

John Watt both guitar players have special pickups that act like an octave pedal. They both in effect play guitar and bass at the same time.

He is one of the best but..... Crap guitar with no body or sustain....overpowered by Matt's drums. Vocals not one of his best either.

You're hearing stage sound, shot from the crowd with a phone. A board mix would be far better sounding. I think his singing sounded great, and is exactly how a bluesman in his 70's might sound.

Yes he is underproduced and playing an acoustic type electric slide guitar , not forgiving at all , I’ve always questioned some of his guitar choices , wish he’d stick to the Gibson Les Paul.... his voice shows he’s 70 something, wtf does anyone expect? He’s a real deal , not a fake ! Get a produced line from a board and you could doctor the shit out of it.... not what he’s into....

Slide guitar is like harmonica. A little bit is OK, but after awhile it just seems like hunt and peck. Fuck, I'll find a note that works somewhere.

Sorry you all, but if a guitar player has to look at the guitar as he trying to play it, he not that good. I listened to zz top since the easier 70's. They ok for a church band in Texas. But always remember, only steers n queers come from Texas!!!!
