I love Billy. He is probably my guitar hero and one of my biggest influences on guitar. Having said that, it’s almost like interviewing a politician because he rarely gives a straight answer.

Glad you enjoyed it
I love this man! My first copy LaGrange was a wore out 8track . I traded a brand new grand funk tape i was disappointed in. The first song up was beer drinkers and hell raisers! I've been a fan eversince! I had threatened to learn guitar just because of him for 45 yrs. I watched a you tube of him and Elwood and watched the whole show. Look i can understand that after 60 yrs most of it playing the same songs over and over. He has to be sick of doing it. So the songs get changed up. We as fans pay big money now days to go to live shows expecting to hear our favorites. Between all the different guitars he plays and trying new ways to play old songs. Most of the music is not the same. But i recommend that if your a fan go before this legend joins Dusty. But sitting there watching i decided i better learn to play and quit making excuses. He does have a extensive guitar collection. But out of all of his great guitar i would do anything almost just to pick up and hold his greatest guitar. The Les Paul he named Pearly Gates. It's not the most expensive or the prettiest. But it is the instrument that he is shown most with in the photos from the early days. I believe their sound and tone came from this guitar. Its like Hickcocks 45s. I recently saw a old photo of him holding a cream colored strat. Only strat I've ever seen him near. Now i know he has a fondness for telecasters. I have actually seen him playing one live. But this Les Paul and its nasty drop g tuning is where ZZs sound was born. I've been to 7 ZZTOP concerts starting at a giant bar b q in Austin Texas in 75 i think. But anyway, Billy you are a ROCK WARRIOR!
