Same thing with my poems. If the first first few lines don't feel right or work, then I don't waste my time on it.

I have just completed his poetry masterclass. A lot of what he taught I already knew, from other classes, and I knew naturally. I have 5 poems that have been selected for print publication, in a magazine.

B's. Bill Collins took poetry classes, Charles Bukowski took writing classes..etc. they teach the same thing that is in books, so it makes no sense what you said. 🤣 You are treating poetry like it happens through magic. Bill Collins talks about that in his masterclass, how that is rubbish. 🤣

Agreed, writing poetry can never be taught. It must be transformed from the unspeakable.

Oh yeah? Well tell me off the cuff the differences between a villanelle and a terzanelle. Both are lovely but disciplined. But you have to learn their form somewhere to get it right. But I adore those particular forms because you can tell they take a bit of work and yes gifts and talents make them extraordinary.
