A rare interview given by Irish rally legend Billy Coleman, alongside his brother John, on an Irish TV chat show.
Originally broadcast in 1990 on the 'Bibi' programme, based that week in Coleman's home town of Millstreet. Presented by Bibi Baskin.

Definitely the greatest rally driver to come out of Ireland imo and such a legend. Apparently Billy was offered a works Fiat drive around late 70's, but turned it down because he was busy on the farm at the time!

The Bi Bi show was a weekly programme on RTE in early 1990s..it was based in different Towns around ireland. ..that 1990 programme...at that stage Billy was 3 years in to permenent retirement John too was past his competitive football days. ..Two very talented sports men..👑👍@paddy Sullivan Cork. ..

Roger Clark could beat the best in the world in Britain. And on his day our Billy could put Roger in his box. I think how much of a big deal that actually was has never been given the credit it deserves. To leave Cork in 1974 and head to a forestry in Scotland or wherever, with no notes, no dvd, no mobile phones. And take on and beat Roger Clark????? What a talent

Don't forget bertie fisher another great Irish rally driver. Billy Coleman is a true legend and mixed it with the best drivers in the world.

Yes it is. You are quite right. It had been gathering dust in my attic for near 30 years. Thanks to VHS for resurrecting it before it was gone beyond saving. . It's only a few minutes long but how many times has Billy ever been interviewed on a TV show. I'm fairly sure this is the first time most people would have seen this.

One word - Paddy Hopkirk - won Circuit of Ireland multitude of times, his fave rally. 🚜
