He also has a positive basis. It’s different to hold a company while you’re losing your initial investment vs losing some of your profit. If he sold he would owe over $1 B in taxes. Tesla is still over valued. It’s just all the musk fan boys buying the stock after he spoke on the earnings call. People are quick to forget the last earnings call where musk said BYD was beating Tesla. That has not changed. The cars don’t hold their value well and autopilot is terrible. If the government stops tarring BYD and subsiding Tesla their sales will plummet.

Smart, yeah, but it doesn't seem like he's had much (any?) experience with FSD. Elon's been promising something like level 4 for years now, and it's never been close. It's closER now, but we aren't there, even with the latest version. I'm afraid it's not going to be good enough for a robotaxi for a long time. I still have a substantial TSLA position, but I've lightened up on it.

Current FSD is great as a toy for now, key point is that the human driver HAS to pay attention and be ready to take over at any moment. That is Level 2 or 2.5, not nearly enough for a robotaxi. Waiting for the moment when Tesla will take responsibility (assume liability) for the accidents where FSD was involved...only then it will be FSD.

After experimenting with stocks since late 2021, I've shifted to 100% S&P 500. Still regretting not doing so from the start. Now i am Considering a return to individual stocks in 2024, but uncertain about safely investing close to 300k in the market.

Model 3 is obviously not RoboTaxi since FSD is still far away from Level 5, and you can see from numerous yourtube videos that while it is good, it still makes plenty of mistakes which makes self-driving several key breakthroughs away. You won't find mutual funds on Robinhood. SoFi Investing offers it (and other mutual funds too, if I had a choice, SoFi Invest seems like a better platform of the two) ..

LAST WEEK I CALLED An Uber to get me to the airport in Fort Lauderdale and a Model 3 showed up. I asked if he had the latest FSD "supervised". He said yes and that he'd been using it regularly since the free trial. I said engage it and let me see for myself how far along this is. A 20min drive through city and highway traffic with some sections really tight and busy..."zero" interventions!! Like Ron says, this is now!

Not now from my experience. My model S is using a free month of FSD and it is disappointing. My 2017 Model S with camera upgrade has not been paying attention to my preferred routes home. It wants to drive where it thinks it should drive. I have a preferred route for a reason, and it should be paying attention. Also the car hesitates annoyingly when pulling into an intersection sometimes. For this to work well the car has to be at least as good a driver as I am. Right now it just makes me nervous the entire time.

Tesla is an energy company that also manufactures cars.

I still don't understand why this technology hasn't been rolled out to busses and trains already/first. Fixed routes. Very little random situations. When people get confident with/used to that, cars will naturally follow on. If I was a train/bus manufacturer, I would be teamng up with Tesla today. You could proably clean up globally.

Was in the market shopping for a new vehicle, Model Y vs Lexus RX, pricing a bit higher for Lexus, but the quality ride with its amazing suspension and how quite the cabin was on highway speeds, was the deciding factor to choose Lexus over Tesla and not having to be worry running out of battery juice when going on long trips and looking for charging stations with long waiting lines. Once there is more infrastructure, might give EVs another look.

I use it for at least one full trip a day.. and that little energy saved makes a huge difference

False. it basically is designed to patch the mistakes a driver would normally make like checking text, changing clothes switching lanes blind spots object runs in the road speed limit adjust etc.

What happens when the cameras and sensors are covered with snow and or mud??? I can tell you what happens to the cameras and sensors on my truck… They don’t work

Fyi, the main front camera has a built-in heater. Back camera really only gets blocked when on the hwy and it's yucky out). Fsd beta drove me around 90% of the time this past winter and that was with V11. V12 is truly mind blowing. My wife and I rarely have disengagement now, and when we do, none of then are critical. Fully autonomous driving isn't here yet, but it for sure is super close!!!!

Same applies to human driver if your windshield gets covered in ice or mud.

Ron talks about things like he's an insider, but all of this is common knowledge.

Utility vehicles don't have keys for utility bed and promoting safetey on categorized vehicles similar to utility vehicles market has not been promoted
