@@1Chapstickluver No they are not, one is French and German, the other is French and Colombian (not necessarily ethnically but probably nationally). Neither is Mexican, which is what they are portraying in the movie. There are plenty of Mexican actresses they could’ve hired in Los Angeles, just like how every other character was obviously type cast.

@@cinthyashanahan7781 People who are under represented care…plus the fact that the story is based on their ethnicity(literally the whole movie) and both of their parents and entire family are brown, it takes away from the continuity. Which a casting director was hired to make sure makes sense, and failed. However, if you don’t care that’s great🫡 it still doesn’t take away the fact that it’s important to others. (At least 50+ individuals that who liked my original comment)

And all the sudden you’re being kicked out of your house you grew up in regardless of the reason then somebody comes in tells you that they’re going to take over your house and make money off of it. I’m just saying if it was me in the middle of the night there be an electrical fire!

The movie has a visual filter which makes the whole screen far more darker than when it was initially shot. They made the film brighter and sharper. I hope this answers your question

In the last week I have watched "Material Girls" and "From Prada to Nada" which are arguably different versions of the same story. I do think this movie told the story better. It helps a lot that this movie isn't about spoiled rich girls trying to get their money back and instead they are learning to adjust, embrace their heritage and find happiness. This movie works better because one of the sisters is down to earth and uses her new situation to help others and improve herself. In "Material Girls" the main goal is for both spoiled girls to clear their dad's name so they can get their fortune back. I think the sisters in "Prada to Nada" also do a decent job of balancing each other out wherein the other movie they are both essentially clueless (lack common sense) spoiled rich girls and that can get grating after a while. I will say what really bothered me about this movie is the make up for Nora. I can't be the only one that wondered why they had to make her so tan. It looked fake. I thought at first, she was a white actress playing a Latina character and that's why they darkened her with makeup, but she is biracial, so I don't understand why they went so heavy on the fake tanner. Overall, though, I think this movie holds up well. I watched it years ago when it was released and just watched it a few nights ago and still liked it. I do wish that Mari had exposed that cheating husband, but I can assume karma caught up to him and I was kind of rooting for their brother to end up with the woman that liked Edward. She seemed like a nice person. She was just the wrong fit for Edward.

"From Prada to Nada", I love this movie, especially how it's a modern update of one of my favourite Jane Austen novels, "Sense and Sensibility!"

He's not a gangster, that's our neighbor Bruno. And we don't talk about Bruno no no no.

This movie is actually a lot of fun to watch, but a slow start.

Bruno loved Mary the whole time. How cute!

So confused. Do they explain what happened to their dads money? He owned a mansion in Beverly Hills, was it bad investments or what? How much did they sell it to their half brother for? It was a mansion in Beverly Hills, did everything they sold it for go to his debts? Because how didn't they have enough to get their own place? Am I crazy or is Edward a huge red flag. Kissed Nora, she regrets him, he immediately got engaged, Nora changed her mind, he immediately dumped his fiancée, goes to buy the house across from where she's staying, proposed and asked her to live there with him.

IRL Edward would be a walking red flag, but in this movie, it is played as him being sweet and romantic. He does do a lot for Nora as well. The movie explains that their father was bankrupt because he made bad investments (because he liked to take risked, like Mari) but did not explain how much the brother bought the house for or what happened to that money. I would assume that it went towards paying off their father's debts because that is the only way the girls wouldn't have had any cash to start over.

The aunts plan to go full Mexican on him, poor guy. Lol

She also did a lifetime movie where her character pretended to be pregnant to see how people would treat her. irl now she's married to Carlos from btr and has 3 kids.

...😔I wanted to buy my loves dream home but failed...however God still blessed her to have it in life

The ending part is lovely

I like this movie but i hate how they tanned them orange to look more mexican 🙄 either leave them with their actual colouring or hire latinas that already have the look you were going for.

Looking at the actual movie and not the recap, I can tell you that it is a filter that they added in the recap. I think one of the reasons might be that it helps avoiding copyright laws🤷🏼‍♀️.

@@yaralaterveer also on the bts extras on the dvd, they literally talk about the absolute shit ton of fake tan they both had to get for filming. Also read that there is a grain filter throughout the movie. Grain doesn't make you look orange 🤷🏽‍♀️

her aunt can't sell her car without her permission its in her name it's illegal and only the owner can sell their car if they choose to (Unless the family member or friend authorizes you to sell their car and signs the required documents, you can't sell it for them.
