$500 and $1000 do exist but not common. Decades ago, $1000 bill was a favourite of drug dealers to keep the loot compact. In this case, however, it appears it is just $100 bills that Dangote sprayed, assuming that it is even dollar bills, because I didn't see it well.

There used to be the $500. It is still legal tender. Banks just do not issue it anymore. But extremely rich persons can still get it.
