This guy goes way to fast for a beginner and gives way too much info before demonstrating. Don’t be hard on yourselves. There are many tutorials on KZread try a few until you find someone who has a teaching style more suitable to your learning style. Don’t give up!! You can do this!!!

you definitely aren't. I thought the same thing. I knew nothing. I thought I was at least mildly talented because I played ("played") my brothers drums when I was 5 and they praised me even though it sounded like shit lmao. 7 years later I decided to pick up the piano. played for a year, gave up. 2 years after that, decided to pick up the ukulele. owned a ukelele for 6 months untouched til I picked it up out of boredom one day. no one was home, so I felt like I could actually play it without being judged. it sounded so bad lol. I tuned it wrong and tried to use a guitar pick. I learned 5 chords in a week. not much progress for the first few weeks. I'm just very slow.. but that's okay. I had to start somewhere 🤷 I'm still not super confident but I've come such a long way. it's now been a couple of months and I'm happy with my progress, though it may not be much. ❤️

If you don’t understand the strumming pattern; it’s D-DTD-DTD (D=down T=tap) Down once on C Down once on D and tap Down *pause* down-tap-down on Em and then the strumming pattern starts over again with C. Repeat this 3 times The way I practiced this until I got it was leaving out the taps first; so one down strum on C then one down strum on D then three down strums on Em. Once You get used to that then add the two taps. This way you can focus on practicing the chord switching first and then focus on the pattern. After that it’s just down down-tap on G, down *pause* down tap down on C. Just do it slow at first and once you start to get it speed up.

Just learned this song in 5 mins. First time learning chords on a ukelele. First song I ever learned on a ukelele. I play guitar so I am good at moving my fingers already but these chords are completely different on a guitar so I'm patting myself on the back!! Love this song so much. Thanks dude!

I understand. Playing and learning the drums helped me understand how to read the beats. The only thing tho is that I’d have to write this down and remember what is what. I really want a ukulele yet I’m sure there’s way more to learn. Thx for this but I’ll go learn the basics now 🙏

Either most of y'all are beginners or just slow, not hating, as guitar player for a year and half that never touched a ukulele and just got one, with the chords are completely different, this was hella easy for me.

I see in the comments that the strumming pattern has a lot of ppl confused, but if you play the video at -0.75 and used the play along at 5:05, the pattern makes a lot more sense and the final product is really lovely! Crack on!

I honestly just did D-UTD-DTD (D=DOWN, U=UP, T=TAP) I found that for me its easier to strum up on the second note because i mess up the strumming pattern with the first tap and can't change cords that quick either.
