I have to strongly disagree. To me she sounds like Violet Orlandi. Seriously. I think the arrangement has an Evanescence vibe, but I don't hear either of those singers in her voice other than that they share a more typical female voice and vocal range.

That is one badass drummer. Major props to him and everyone in this project.

It puts a lot of strain of your voice if you do it for too long. I personally lost my voice for more than a week doing so. If you want growls in the second part of the song, etc. try it out yourself! There’s tutorials here on KZread!

The two versions are wonderful and different! Dude, Violet does whispers too, but she and Billie have different techniques and different styles. In fact, it's very difficult to whisper in any style while keeping your breath, tuning and changing the way you sing in some parts. Don't praise one work defaming another.
