Bill Sienkiewicz is an American MASTER. Seriously one of the greatest artists in the 21st century. The fact that he primarily paints superheroes should not and does not diminish that fact

Interesting stuff. Sienkiewicz’s Moon Knight in the back of Rampaging Hulk was a treat. I would point out to the editor that at about 9:42-9:52 is a fine Moon Knight cover by Michael Kaluta while Bill drew a short interior story of that issue.

Glad this popped up on my YT feed. Have always loved Sienkiewicz, but never seen him. I expected like a Tim Burton type personality with crazy hair. I owned a comic shop in the 80's and loved his run on New Mutants. "Cocaine Bear" poster looks so much like his work. NM movie wasn't what I wanted, but the influence of Sienkiewicz is ever present. Have always loved his style. Even though I fell out of love with comics, I never fell out of love with great and unique art, and he's always gifted us with that.

Beautiful story. Would love to see the original portfolio that got him the job at Marvel. But I can definitely see the Neal Adams influence in the Moon Knight art.

Your New Mutants stuff was just so captivating. I remember it was the era of pockets and big guns but I couldn’t NOT buy back issues of New Mutants. And I was new to comics but I was just baffled about how THIS work could have become X-Force.

that was fabulous! thanks so much! if possible i'd love to see more of you talking about your influences and your inspirations -- from the art world, the comics world including Europe, and beyond -- what inspires you outside of traditional illustration and painting. like how do your favorite film-makers inform your art, what role (if any) do things like travel or food or music play into your art, etc. thanks so much for all you do!

Shortly before Neal adams passed away I was getting heavily into the Bronze Age and when I saw his art I knew he was the definitive creator to revamp Batman back to who he was. It’s a darn shame I never caught him at a con the work he did made so much sense like it was meant to happen. He lays a foundation for us to study and explore

I met him TWICE at cons. The second time, he remembered who I was (the guy that brought the tattered Batman Annual with his Two-Face on the cover to sign)! He was great to fans. I'm sorry you missed him.

Was actually never a big fan of comics in general but Stray Toasters was a tour de force that had me re-evaluate the entire medium and my ideas on storytelling and what is art. Now I read on the mechanics of comics as there is a previously unknown world open to me.
