Bill O'Reilly SHOULD do everything he can to figure out if his wife is cheating. Internal affairs SHOULD act on tips to figure out if their officers are in potentially compromising positions, which could lead to their involvement in criminal activity. Internal affairs SHOULD NOT be generating "dirt" on anyone, for any reason.

There is a perspective that should be considered: If I'm the head of a city police dept. and I learn that one of my guys is committing adultery with the wife of someone in my city --someone who has HUGE INFLUENCE on the public's perception of what my department does---that public-- also pays my salary and that public I must answer to and that public expects me to run a tight, moral ship--you better believe I'm going to investigate the guy. I was told at age 22 "Don't s---t where you eat."
