it would be so easy for him to rip lost in space apart, but instead he treasures his experience. couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

I've been enjoying watching these mini interviews that Billy Mumy did, but I have to ask...If he felt so strongly about having another opportunity to play Will (his quote in this clip is "I would go and be Will Robinson in an hour if I had the opportunity to.") then why didn't he jump on the opportunity when the movie version came out? Did he not feel that way back then? I'd heard he was offered the part of the older Will Robinson. Was there something that held him back or kept him from taking the part in that film? After 30 years, here was that opportunity presenting itself and he didn't take it. I'm just wondering if the passion wasn't there then, and now, maybe, he regrets it. EDIT: I just did a little digging and found on IMDB.com that Mumy was not offered the older Will Robinson part, but did, in fact, want to play the older Will in the new movie. However, the director thought it would be too distracting from the plot to have him play the older Will. Personally, I don't get that philosophy. I don't think it would have been a distraction at all. Sad what could have been and that he didn't get to play Will again.

So why did some of us SCI FI fans love this series despite the cheap and cheesy effects and silly plots? It had a lot to do with love of the characters in the show like billy mumy, Jonathan Harris, robot and the other members. I am glad Bill kept his character Will as serious and believable, or it would have been total camp.
