Of coarse! This is pre auto-tune! Computers can make anyone a star in the studio. To make a record pre nineties you had to actually be able to sing! Singers came up singing live in bands touring, now, record companies just find a marketable person and work magic in the studio to spoon feed it to the public. Listen up kids! this is what a stage performance is supposed to be, no lip syncing, no singing to a mix track!

Take me back to the 80s, please. I had a boyfriend who was absolutely horrible but at the time this movie/song came out, i was happy. I was a teenager and just so carefree. the relationship just got worse as it progressed along, though. wish i could undo so many things, like meeting him. wish i would have never met him but at at that moment in time, i was giddy with happiness. i would just love to go back to that time when my family was intact and my mom was living, i had many, many friends, and so much family around me. we never really appreciate those things until they're gone. sometimes we can take people for granted, especially if they've always been there.

Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes - so perfect together. She & Bill harmonized so perfectly in parts of this performance. It would take a great deal of time performing together for it to completely harmonize. We are lucky that they did this. She has one of those crystal clear voices like Linda Ronstadt, Patsy Klein, & Joan Baez who could make & hold a note so perfectly. As far as harmonizing to perfection, The Everly Brothers & Righteous Brothers mastered the sound only after decades of performing together. Jennifer Warnes & Bill Medley are each on there own fabulous vocal musicians.

Jennifer Warnes sounds the same live and on recording. She is phenomenal! Bill is great too, of course. Just rewatched Dirty Dancing for the umpteenth time since being in quarantine and it’s still just as good as almost 30 years ago. I believe it. My two girls were in Dance school, and they did this in the recital at the end of the school year. Two older students did a short version of the stage dance, and then did the jump/lift! It was beautiful, and the students got a standing ovation! It even hit the local newspapers. They were celebrated by the whole town! And now my daughters are wives and mothers, and their own daughters are following in their Mothers' footsteps as dancers. The 30th anniversary they did it with the children of the original dancers who did it 30 years ago! Simply beautiful. Such great memories!

Of coarse! This is pre auto-tune! Computers can make anyone a star in the studio. To make a record pre nineties you had to actually be able to sing! Singers came up singing live in bands touring, now, record companies just find a marketable person and work magic in the studio to spoon feed it to the public. Listen up kids! this is what a stage performance is supposed to be, no lip syncing, no singing to a mix track!

As a woman, I just love Bill Medley singing. What a voice and what an emotion and clearly, what a man behind it all.Of course, Jennifer Warns has a fantastic voice and singing.

Almost didn't happen. Bill kept turning them down because wife Paula was pregnant and he had promised her that he would be there for the birth. Fortunately she had the baby (McKenna) in time for this magical duet.

Take me back to the 80s, please. I had a boyfriend who was absolutely horrible but at the time this movie/song came out, i was happy. I was a teenager and just so carefree. the relationship just got worse as it progressed along, though. wish i could undo so many things, like meeting him. wish i would have never met him but at at that moment in time, i was giddy with happiness. i would just love to go back to that time when my family was intact and my mom was living, i had many, many friends, and so much family around me. we never really appreciate those things until they're gone. sometimes we can take people for granted, especially if they've always been there.
Miss those times when singers sings live and they sound as amazing as their recordings. 😍

Bill Medley certainly found his niche with duets. His duet with Bobby Hatfield as The Righteous Brothers was perfection too.
Now this is what true God given talent sounds like! No lip synching to a pre-recorded track, or the use of auto tune! (which wasn't around back then anyways!)

Agree! I was lucky to see her perform in 2009 in Portland OR. She was and is so charming and my fave female singer. I've enjoyed her work since the late 60's.

Martina-What country are you from-I mean yeah This + Where We Belong are massive hit singles-But so was other singles like: "I Know a Heartache When I See One", + "Right Time of the Night" both in the 70's with hit albums like: Jennifer Warnes[Debut]...... Shot Through the Heart, Famous Blue Raincoat...And sang on some other well known artists albums + soundtracks which you would recognize like: In 1985, she recorded a duet version with B. J. Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes - so perfect together. She & Bill harmonized so perfectly in parts of this performance. It would take a great deal of time performing together for it to completely harmonize. We are lucky that they did this. She has one of those crystal clear voices like Linda Ronstadt, Patsy Klein, & Joan Baez who could make & hold a note so perfectly. As far as harmonizing to perfection, The Everly Brothers & Righteous Brothers mastered the sound only after decades of performing together. Jennifer Warnes & Bill Medley are each on there own fabulous vocal musicians.

Jennifer Warnes sounds the same live and on recording. She is phenomenal! Bill is great too, of course. Just rewatched Dirty Dancing for the umpteenth time since being in quarantine and it’s still just as good as almost 30 years ago. Actually I love it even more considering the movies that’s been out in the past few years.
They have incredible chemistry as a duet. They have sung this hundreds of times, yet their enthusiasm makes it new. The secret of being a great entertainers!

I believe it. My two girls were in Dance school, and they did this in the recital at the end of the school year. Two older students did a short version of the stage dance, and then did the jump/lift! It was beautiful, and the students got a standing ovation! It even hit the local newspapers. They were celebrated by the whole town! And now my daughters are wives and mothers, and their own daughters are following in their Mothers' footsteps as dancers. The 30th anniversary they did it with the children of the original dancers who did it 30 years ago! Simply beautiful. Such great memories!

I have seen dirty dancing many times time of my life great 98.1 chfi plays this song a lot classic the 80s were great!
