Bill Maher used his final pre-election day New Rule to give voters a look back on memory lane with the good, the bad, and the ugly of the 2012 presidential campaign. Maher first said that people should stop saying they can't wait for the election to be over, because they secretly love campaigns like this, which he succinctly described as "an insult to our intelligence."

The 2012 election was actually very entertaining and enjoyable. It was probably the last normal election we’ll ever see in America. And by normal I mean civil and without any divisive rhetoric and people just debated the issues. That said, I would have much rather had Romney win 2012. If he wins we likely wouldn’t have had to deal with trump and I think he improves the economy x2 of what we actually got from the Obama administration. Above it all, I want a good economy and frankly Republican presidents are better at it than democrats.
Bill nailed it with Michelle Bachmann .. she is just about that crazy .. it's great to see her on her way out and under investigation .. that's your republican party .. the party of "values"

Bill Maher ignored Ron Paul, pretty accurate recap then.
He forgot Ron Paul who polled in second and third. According to the main dude at Gallop whom I spoke to for 15 minutes at the NY Republican C when I was advocating for RP as a Green, Paul was polling in at 10% in NY consistently. I also spoke to someone for 20 minutes who is a GOP Lobbyist with money and he made a slip of the tongue and told me that "it's been decided." This was before super Tuesday and when less than 25% of the state caucuses and primaries. "The game is rigged." George Carlin

I don't think he forgot him, he didn't want to insult him by putting him in the same category as Bachmann, Santorum and the other loonies. Many liberals actually liked Paul.
