This is so funny, Maher says, "I have limited amount of sympathy for anybody who is rich, beautiful, lucky in life to be where they were and still make all about them." Apart from the beautiful part of that statement, he's pretty much talking about himself and how others might feel about him. I love good irony.

I do think that he holds himself in that same position. It is why he will go after anybody for a laugh. He made a statement when discussing free speech and the Babylon be about the need for humility when doing things like this, and it is probably why he is as successful as he has been.

This isn't about Johnny's 'honour', it's about him clearing his name of false accusations. Accusations that his children have been bullied and teased over. If nothing else he's doing it for them.

Can you tell me what is she doing with the face making? The issue, in my opinion is Disney suspended him with AH case judgement in the UK. Why wouldn’t he want to clear his name? He may actually be successful again, the women love him. They are outside the courthouse, inside the court room and trending on the net. Hopefully he’ll find comfort in that…

It was thee only way to if not clear his name expose AH as an abuser. #BillMaher, you’re a bit out of touch here. Johnny wanted to prove that Amber’s allegations and insinuations about him being physically violent towards her we’re not true. I don’t know if Johnny cares whether he ever works at the same level again or not he just doesn’t want to be remembered that way; especially because it was mostly slanderous libel on Amber’s part. And there’s been more than enough evidence to substantiate Johnny’s case against her. Obviously Johnny wasn’t perfect either, but Amber needs to be brought to justice for her manipulation, physical assaults and lies; gaslighting and baiting him while filming him without his knowledge is [despicable and] reason enough. One doesn’t suddenly become a physically abusive domestic partner in their late 50’s. & There is no record of Johnny having been so in the past. Johnny’s only crime was being unfortunate enough to get involved with someone who only brought out the worst in him. This type of volatile relationship for Johnny was unprecedented compared to his previous relationships. Get a clue, Bill. Smh

He will still lose the case. It cannot be proven that the Washington Post Op Ed severely damaged his reputation and destroyed his career. His reputation was toast long before that, because he never fought her initial claims of abuse after the divorce. He will win a moral victory -- his behaviour when addicted to opioids was horrendous, but she was not a squeaky clean victim by any means.

Johnny is the victim. Johnny is the victim from her physical abuse, from her slanderous and defamatory lies that cost him millions. This is already an indisputable proven fact. And regardless of what the jury decides, Johnny will be completely vindicated while Amber has destroyed her own reputation and career. Only an idiot would agree to be in a movie with her after this. She also burned Disney and MGM with this trial by dragging them into it after they specifically told her not to. They're never going to have anything to do with her again just because of that alone. And the fact she went against them like that, it sends a very strong message and warning to all the other major movie companies that she will burn them whenever she thinks it is to her benefit to try to gain something by it. Johnny will reemerge while Anber will be forever destroyed. She is way to toxic to have anything to do with. She took this way to far and now she got herself so deep in this there is no recover from it. Amber is finished. If she is lucky she might be able to at least get work in the porn industry after this.

Now Is Bill being insensitive to someone’s misery just because they are successful celebrities? He should take a look at the mirror. He might see someone who’s frequently whining about what he doesn’t like or disagrees with, while he is also a successful celebrity. It’s not just your station in life that decides the validity of your distress. I would suggest that he should learn the lesson he keeps repeating. It’s not all about him. A little empathy would be appropriate for both a man whose career and reputation was destroyed and for the mentally I’ll woman that did it to him. I think it really might show what a superficial person Mr Maher has become. I used to respect him for his ideas but lately it seems he’s become one of the whining little bitches he always complains about. Just disappointed.

The last time I felt this disappointed with Bill was when he was on ABC and him another guy with a nose as big as Africa were running down Hillary Clinton because she wasn't model beautiful. I'm pretty sure that Bill believes he's brilliant. I believe he has his moments of brilliance, his moments of breathtaking stupidity and mostly is just everything he bitches about, damn near all the time. As long as this doesn't become a habit, I'll tune in again.

The trail in England was against The Sun not against Amber so no he hasn't already done this. If you followed that trail at all you know Amber already didn't come off well. It was decided by a judge not a jury and its was over an article written by a reporter for The Sun. This is him suing Amber directly over an article she herself supposedly wrote in a different publication. Its not the same lawsuit. More info has come out in this one and AH runs the risk of perjuring herself. Johnny may still lose although I don't see her being awarded damages, as he and his legal team have been honest about his addictions and issues. However he has already won in the court of public opinion and reestablished his reputation. Bill used to be more on top of this stuff and rarely spoke without knowing full facts.

Thank you, Bill Maher, for pointing out how often the words"tragedy" and"tragic flaw" are misused. I'm not being snide. I really am thankful that I'm not the only person in the world who might scream at television news anchors who say, "Tragedy struck last night when a child swallowed a cube of ice and couldn't run outside to stand with his mouth open so the sun could melt the deadly piece of frozen water." I don't know why I expect the American public to know what is/it not tragic when the majority of us can't tell the difference between hear/here, they're/their/there, where/were/we're or it's/its; hell, they have never learned how to use compound subjects, noun/verb agreement or the use of the subjunctive with verbs of wishing or wanting. And verb tenses? Forget it. Don't even try. They are now making up their own verbs - like "tooken" or "shooken."

White men always get a pass. Depp admitted that he was abused by his mother. If he has not yet received appropriate professional therapeutic help for this, it is very credible that he has gone on to abuse himself with substances and his domestic partner (one in three chance). She’s no saint and was clearly co-dependent. She did not handle it well and should have extricated herself from the unhealthy relationship at the earliest signs. They both need to learn self-love and self-forgiveness and to stop working out their deeply seated psychological wounds on a partner and now the world-wide audience.
