    ThaTurdBurglar It’s hard to talk about the death of someone who used to be very close to you. Bill was hopping to spend more time with Paul once his kids graduated college and the reality was different. If you read the book idea man by Paul Allen you will understand that their friendship kinda fell apart for a while but the two remained friends nevertheless. You can tell it hurts Bill in some measure.

    @@shadowjuan2 ah funny I've been reading that book for a week or so, almost done with it. They seem to have had a complex relationship, more like a 50 year game of chess than a friendship.... it seems obvious to me that they had a public front of a friendship, that they had to maintain after a certain point. Behind the curtains, there are lots of signs that bill was a straight up douchebag to Paul. Also, I study Paul in interviews where ever I can, and it always seems to be that he words himself very carefully around speaking about bill directly. Very careful. Yet he doesn't hesitate to mention that bill has been cut throat in both business and private life. When asked about comparing their first years of knowing each other, Paul says things like "...my parents were... librarians..." - but he doesn't ever talk about bills parents... And he's suggesting he came from a "normal" background & bill does not. Ever watch the Netflix special inside Bills brains? It's basically propaganda. How could it ever say anything negative about bill, it was made for him, by him, and to serve his image... anyway, it mentions his mother a bit and never his father. Why? Research bills father. Also there are scenes in that series that highlight key areas of bills psychology, both as a child and through life. Still they don't hide the fact his mother was a key player with United Way, a "charity". This has been one of the biggest charities in the world - as of the last few decades, because of a "built in edge" taking 60% of its "donations directly through payrolls and 20% from corporations, like Microsoft? Hmm.... none of this is hidden. Huge conflicts of interest where billions of dollars were "made" by very few people. Just check it out. Bill can wipe his ass with these 100 million dollar poop refinery endeavors to gain and maintain cutting edge and CONTROL in the name of "saving humanity" ... the poop irony is so deep in that episode of the series, my god... Yet he is labeled the savior by the propaganda machine. 1. Bill gets what Bill wants, throughout his life. 2. In the netflix series - He and his sisters describe (separately) a "war" he had with his parents sometime in childhood (it sounded like 10-13ish years of age), in which bill saw a 'family psychologist' over this period of his life. Sounds like a spoiled brat? Look deeper. A study of his psychology, and general mindset throughout his life reveals truly psychopathic tendencies - coupled with deep insider knowledge coming from the circle of folks around his father. He frequently met with Mr. Rockefeller. That's enough of a connection to blow to the doors open if you can wrap your head around it. Please check out his father and the circle of "people" around him

    @@shadowjuan2 I can't doubt some sincerity there. They had a close connection. But the stuff I mentioned outweighs all of the post-game talk bill could ever come up with. He's just covering his ass, and will hope we keep focusing on the legacy story of Microsoft, the American dream success - instead his hideous one step forward, 3 steps back ways (or one step forward but also with arms full, grabbing as much control and influence as possible. The irony is too much - of a "numbers" guy like bill not seeing that the amount of money and power he has (potential/exploitation of capitalism), is ultimately way too much for any one man or any one foundation to do any real good with > compared to making 100b in decentralized efforts. Often he describes his fortune as a problem not many could bear.. self righteous attitude of "only I have the answer".. going down an exponentially dark path the more exponentially rich he gets over the years. Ultimately a fundamental flaw of capitalism, not bills fault. He's only human.. I think?

    @Phony Bliar what you seem to misunderstand is Bill and Paul were not friends. They were business partners. Just like Steve and Woz were not friends, they were business partners. Bill Gates like Steve jobs didn't have very many friends. They had business associates. If you were expecting Bill to cry over the death of his business partner, then you have zero idea of their relationship. I met all 4 people and I liked Paul and Woz. Steve and Bill were dicks in their own way. Bill was simply a smaller dick than Steve. Steve didn't like anyone, he even disowned his own child until years later. Bill saying he won't give any of his wealth to his kids is a crying shame. But at least he took care of them all their lives. Now having said that Bill and Paul were not friends doesn't mean he didn't care about Paul, because deep down I am positive he does. Bill looks at everything from a logical perspective and not from an emotional one. He will miss his partner, but not in the same way you would miss your partner. When Steve Jobs and Paul Allen died, I am fairly positive Bill grieved their deaths in his own way. It doesn't have to be in the way you think he should. When you are around someone for years knowing they have a life threatening disease, you try to do things that dont talk about such. Over time you accept the fact they no longer will be around. My mom is over 80 years old. She has had bad health for the vast majority of her life. She has lost a considerable amount of weight and because if her health, doctors can no longer do anything for her. I know her time is short and it makes me very sad to see her in a condition where I can only do so much. But I know it is a matter of time, because we all know if we live long enough we are gonna die. But I'm not gonna fall apart when I have spent years accepting the obvious. I lost my father just a few years ago. We were not close even though he was in my life all my life. But it was not difficult to deal with at all. I had a few tears and I moved on. It's just a part of life. Paul and Bill were business associates who created a revolution together and then they parted ways. Bill continued running a company while Paul went to have fun knowing his time was short. They both have lived great lives and I am sure they both had some regrets about their relationship. But they are both very wealthy men who had alot to keep their minds away from pointless banter between themselves. Am sure both did and said things they didn't like as we all do. But hind sight is always 20/20 and everyone has their way. Its many times my dad verbally hurt my mom. But my dad wasn't the type if guy who could verbally say he was sorry. Most times he would write a letter and put it on her dresser apologizing. That was simply his way and she was accepting of that. I personally have zero right to question something that isn't my business and neither do you. People have their way, and you can have your opinion about it. But people dont have to do things the way you think they should. Period!

  • @TechieXP

    @TechieXP

    Tim VeePee They were more than business partners, as teens they liked going to movies together, and had a blast coding until late in the morning. Even after Paul left Microsoft they remained in contact, not necessarily to talk about business. Bill was expecting to spend more time with Paul after his children graduated College. You may think Bill is a machine that only thinks logically, but he is human too and his feelings are all over this interview. Not crying in front of the camera doesn’t mean Bill didn’t grief over Paul’s death.

    Amazing it takes death for bill to sort of squeak out the truth lol. Paul allen had incredible vision, and not nearly as much drive as bill. Paul literally recruited bill in highschool cause he was smart. Then pestered him into starting a company, and took a back seat to bill's incredible energy boldness, and dominance, while still providing brilliant technical insight along the way. They were an amazing team.

    KreoleKing yeah I watched some parts of it, it’s a very sycophantic view of bill made by bill to make bill look like some holy savior. I like him but it was a lot to bear. Also, you do know the Netflix show came out after Paul’s death. I read this in Paul’s book, and even in the show they talk about how bill was upset with Paul and didn’t talk about his early contributions because Paul had other interests than working there since he had cancer and bill wanted more labor out of him. That Netflix thing is just a retelling of Paul’s book with a more favorable bent towards bill. Real cool, after the guys dead. Anyway fascinating pair. Also, if you're interested Paul's book gives more details fascinating details about bills personality, and Paul gives him tremendous credit throughout for saving the company multiple times Paul wasn't an ego maniac at all. Anyway, if you read Paul's book you will see what bill is trying to do. He's trying to shift the perception of him. Sort of like how John D. Rockefeller invented old billionaire propaganda when he was old to get people to like him. (Edited because the first time was on my phone, and it made nearly no sense) Also, I like to always say this is the internet, and everyone is hostile so I hope you know I respect you, and don't think you're coming from a negative place.

    master cobra that’s a fair critique but let’s not pretend that the human experience of friendships, partnerships etc is so perfect and without conflict. Perhaps Bill and Paul had a breakdown in communication but that doesn’t mean that Bill didn’t appreciate Paul or care for him. Interestingly enough both used media to tell their story from which we all draw unnecessary conclusions when neither really set the record straight. Steve Jobs was friends with Bill too but they also like regular people had conflict. No big deal.

  • @CobraAquinas

    @CobraAquinas

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@kjmullone Yeah, I agree with you totally, to communicate is to be misunderstood, and obviously if we were near each other I could convey more information, than in this post. I don't think bill is some evil creature or anything. I've just seen this dynamic before typically broad minded inventive people regularly latch on to the more driven confrontational types to get them where they need to go. Also, there's that funny story about how well bill handles conflict that steve was famous for yelling at people and bill would just sit there looking at him until he ran out of gas. Anyway, I enjoy seeing the basic human nature even at the highest of levels.

    Bill dives in dumpsters to steal other companies print outs. Hacks school computers. Has one partner, tries to take bulk of profits and begins campaign to belittle partners positioning and influence in company. His first OS was a copy of someone else's work. His college career was an attempt to beat the system in an attempt at vain glory. None of these actions reflect the profile of a philanthropic mind, but, verify one of a self serving, greed motivated individual who uses their intelligence to promote their ego and bank account through lying, stealing, and even breaking the law. Both Paul Allen and Steve Jobs died from Cancer, like so many platform victims. The illness of Cancer, as it is now well documented acts as the perfect cover for murder, allowing the killing stroke to be delivered and covered up under the pretense of natural causes. Several cases of this activity are established. Bill states in an interview that he reconnected with Steve Jobs in his final months, and even though Jobs had Cancer, he was in the process of aquiring a new yacht, displaying a positive mind set and a semblance of capability. Bill states that Steve and himself reflected on their past together and how they held notions of changing the world, yet as stated, earlier activities involved corporate espionage, breaking the law, and destroying personal relationships for profit among other behaviors, none of which suggest the traits of a savior or heroic mentality as implied. Shortly after this on going reunion the disease takes Steve's life, as it did Allens. It is based on this idea, Bill's admission that around the time of Allens passing, a friend of Bill's was killed on mount Rainier, Bill's affirmed relations with Epstein who is a confirmed platform user, and the established fact that no one gets in special boy club without commiting murder, that we start to see what I believe is a pattern of platform usage. The dead friend on the mountain needs to be identified, along with all officers and agents attached to his, Steve Job's,and Paul Allen's deaths.
