I grew up listening to Bill Cosby decades ago. His records back then are as funny now than they were back then.

He was so talented. I grew up listening to this album so much I have it memorized. So sad he couldn’t keep his life together. I’m 64.

Then, Why exactly, did one accusation become a trial, after 10 years, when it was rejected ?? 🤔

that's my favourite part, the whole sequence is a rollercoaster ride in comedy - it's laughing non-stop till the end and you can hear it in the audience too!

I hadn't heard this since the late '60s. I was a kid back then, and my older brothers had this album. I listened to it so many times I could repeat most of it word for word, and probably still can. Funny stuff. As for the part about playing football for Temple and Hofstra supposedly being so fearsome, it's true Hofstra had beaten Temple the previous four seasons before Cosby's first season in '61, but they didn't exactly dominate them. Temple lost to Hofstra only by a score of 6-4 the previous season ('60). In the '61 game, which is possibly the game he was referring to on this album, Temple came away with the victory, 14-12. I have read that Cosby also played in '62 before at some point dropping out of college to pursue his comedy career full time. Hofstra won that game 19-10. I don't think Cosby played in '63 when Temple posted a lopsided 46-14 win. In reality, it sounds like the two teams were pretty evenly matched in those days.

I listened to it much the same as you when these albums were new in the '60s. I even recited Superman skit in first grade. I remember laughing so hard i was doubled over, crying. And i only just "got" the Midol bit, almost 60 years later. Timeless.

Humour was different back in the day -- I bet people don't find any of the golden era comedy records funny now. Those classic stand up comedians could get it done with out the swear words by using only their imagination.
