he owes her money, really money, you know i myself suffered a lot a child abuse, (nothing sexual) but a a lot of abuse, like my dad kicking me out of the house at 8 yrs old, although no child should go thru what i went thru, i never once ever thought i should be awarded money. all i was concerned about was finishing high school and getting out, i just do not agree with any of these claims of sexual or not should be given millions and millions of dollars . and when i see these claims of sexual abuse and they get a lawyer and more and more of them attach themselves by saying i was abuse to by the same person, it draws a red flag to me as to weather the claims are really factual

He needs to apologize privately and publicly for leaving her with all the blame by herself after the secret was out. He left her to fend for herself when it was both of them in the relationship. I guess its true you see peoples true colors when the going gets tough. I hope he will one day apologize personally to her one on one

Due to Monica's age at the time of her affiar with the most powerful man in the world, Clinton, I'm sure that she never realized how she was jeopardizing her future, her reputation and the rest of her life. She made a mistake, but she should have been helped by pshchiatric professionals, at BILL Clinton's and the governments expense! I hold her in the highest regard and respect for all that she's been thru and for the way in which she has handled herself in the aftermath. Let's be clear, what happened between them was consensual, one on one, in person and private. So should be an apology. Public apology only says "l'm trying to convince the public I'm a descent apologetic person. It does nothing for the person he destroyed from the inside out because he had all the power from the start. He's a Conman from way back, just read books written about him. Her never marrying is surely a result of their entanglement. Wonder what she'd say if he showed up today and said I"ve ended my marriage and want you to come away with me. Somehow I believe she'd laugh and tell him she left Disneyland a long, long time ago. And by the way Bill your now all alone like I"be been since I met you, touche'.

Yes. She was a CHILD. She was 22. Still going over "Fools Hill". Infatuated by the most powerful man in the WORLD who should have set some BOUNDARIES. Clinton knew what was happening. Lewinsky did not understand "the men's game", and of course would be HURT, REACT, and be Publically Ruined. MOST women are more naive than men think. They get hurt. Learn the hard way. Put up a brave front, and Grow Up. SAD consequences result. My gosh! Clinton wad older. He knew he should have protected her heart at least, and. LEFT the HONEY ALONE in private life as well as PUBLIC OFFICE. Psychologist have determined that "kids " take 2 additional years to mature due to social media. It takes until the age of 26 to for the brain to close and to develop enough to reach the age of formal thought and be able to make good judgements. No one should sign contracts until they reach... including marriage. Clinton should have secret smiled to himself at her flirtation. set rebuking boundaries, and discouraged or ignored her.

I have just realized that I was once in a very similar situation. I became involved with someone who was "above me", and when the news got out he actually put the entire blame on me and even REPORTED ME, saying that I had been attempting to have a sexual relationship with him. He even accused me of having slept with other men who were his colleagues! I ended up being suspended because of it and very few people believed my side of the story, and he was able to move all the strings in his favor from his position of greater power. I have since forgotten about it because I simply didn't think it deserved my attention, but I'd say he owes me AT LEAST an apology and I never got one.

People act like he couldn’t control himself....please....he’s just a horn dog who would prob F about anyone...women man or child is the rumor. on top of it he’s acting like a victim and crying about the money lost. I wished Pres. Clinton had done some soulsearching and self-reflection. It would not belittle him, on the contrary if he showed self-reflection over how he behaved in the workplace in the 80s and 90s, and what that means decades later in light of the meeto movement, he would be a bigger man. An opportunity lost to restore a lot of the respect he once had. The affair would be seen more critically today, even as it was consensual and Monica Lewinsky in her own account was eager to engage and apparently very much infatuated with her powerful and charismatic boss.

It was a CONSENSUAL affair with Lewinsky, who gives a F........the other accusations about bill raping other women are a different story though. In the individual case of Lewinsky though I don't think its directly in relation to the meetoo accusations. The women in the current cases did not give consent nor want the man. Lewinsky and Clinton were absolutely consensual and she was well of age to know what she was doing and same goes for bill. If he should be apologizing to anyone publicly it should be solely to his wife Hillary...not Monica and not the American people

It is in connection to the #metoo movement, because the movement is about powerful gatekeepers in charge of young women's careers who coincidentally make advances and push sexual encounters. That's an illegal quid pro quo situation, a situation where a candidate for a job or promotion is given the impression it would benefit her or his chances if she participated or it might harm his or her chances if they refused. It is wrong and has been illegal for a long time to push sexuality with subordinates that depend on their superiors' favor for further career advancement. It is also illegal if the person willingly participates, because it is a labor right infringement. It is IN ADDITION downright criminal if resistance is broken or coercion in the legal sense applied.

dinavienna I completely understand your points and if the circumstances were for her career advancing than I definitely agree with you that it's illegal as well as disgusting. Completely out of curiosity, do we know that she slept with him consensually for expectations in career advancement, or was it solely out of being infatuated or in love with this man and participating in a mistake. Or in the eyes of the law does any of this not matter anyway lol. I'm not exactly familiar and unsure.

  • @patriciajones4206

There was no quid pro quo. quid pro quo means that sexual favors were done in order to receive favors. That is not what happened with Bill and Monica. What happened with Bill and Monica is that they were both attracted to one another, and they both chose to fool around a bit. She didn't give him sexual favors in return for promotions or anything like that. They both flirted with each other, and in fact she started flirting with him FIRST from the crowd to get his attention. It IS an ethics violation however to have sexual interactions with somebody that is your subordinate, but that is different from being a quid pro quo situation. Bill was in the wrong for violating ethics, but he did not offer Monica favors in return for their sexual interactions.

She had been an adult for 4 years she chose to be in the relationship with him. Yes he had more power, but that was part of the attraction for her. Let's not infantilize and patronize young women for their choices.

And she later bragged about it. This is NOT ME TOO!

Ladies and gentlemen! Let's face the truth (maybe not so pleasant for someone, but obvious). What should he apologize to her for? Why is she represented as a victim? He did no violence, no offence to her: their affair was totally of mutual consent. She was 25, a person of full age, so it's ridiculous to say "she was almost a child". In fact, their relationship was a banal fling, which has brought popularity to Ms Lewinsky. The only thing Mr Clinton has to apologize for is lying under oath. But not to Monica Lewinsky, but to the American people.

1.Clearly we still do not understand how workplace harassment works and what "taking advantage of your position and power" means. 2. People who call Monica a "home wrecker", FYI, people IN the marriage wreck their own marriages, not third parties. How do we know Bill and Hilary's marriage was not already over before Monica even came into the picture? How do we know Bill did not make it seem like his marriage was an open marriage to Monica? Its sad that the world convinced her to apologise to Hilary...Monica did not need to apologise to ANYONE. 3. Monica Lewinsky was made to sign contracts to not share her side of the story for a decade which was basically Clinton's abuse of power, denied jobs in her field everywhere in USA...shamed for her entire life, bullied, harassed, trashed, eventually she moved to London and studied social psychology at LSE to understand what happened to her..she tried to share her story now to help others who have been victim of shaming and bullying survive the pain.

Yes we do. That's why we still hold individuals responding for their own actions even if they have a vagina. How is it workplace harassment when she spent 500 bucks to fly to New York and grab his balls in public btw? 🤔 She was an adult with no sense of boundaries or respect for the office and position she was put in. Just like him. She was also *stupid and conceited enough* to tell 12 people including a virtual stranger, Linda Trip. If she had kept her mouth shut, she would have a nice Washington career, a wealthy husband and 2.5 kids by now. She couldn't. No ones fault but her own 🤷‍♀️
